Ok - so it does work but it takes better instructions and better equipment
So those frustrated with the not linking up to network. After two frustrating days, we think we got it. It worked great the first time we used it and again when I used it to housesit. Then we couldn’t get it to connect to network.Tips:-1. don’t hold the “set” button. It unpairs your device every time you hear the chime. Just tap it. It will make an obnoxious beep. That’s the beep in the instructions. The chime is not the “beep”- the chime is your camera now unpairing and you have to go back and pick a new name for the camera.2. Set it up right next to router. It really does link faster.3. Choose a new camera name every time it gets unpaired (the chime)(example: you add a new network, move to a new house, etc). Don’t use a camera name u have used before (it will not re-pair up with it again - I don’t know why). So if you used “garage”, don’t use it again. Add a new name like garage2.4. Don't use the USB adapter they send. It made the camera just keep cycling through startup. I switched to one of my adapters and it worked fine. Quality control is poor apparently. Those were the hard to solve puzzles for the camera. Otherwise the image and sound are fabulous and the temp is close to actual. Within 4 degrees of my other thermometer...it Doesn’t have a battery so if power goes out, bummer. It should restart though when the power comes back. It shouldn’t unpair itself unless the network changes (I unplugged it after setup and moved to another room and it worked fine). Hope this helps! Good luck!

Monitor, temperature sensor, night vision, pan and tilt, security camera....power packed little tool
I bought this camera / temperature monitor to keep track of my pet while away. There are not many monitors that include 270 degree pan and tilt views and the temperature. I thought for the money I would give it a try. This can be used in RV's and boats and even doubles as a security camera. It has a small micro SD port for recording videos and taking pictures. It will save all recordings to a file on your phone and send you alerts through the app. It sends alerts for motion and temperature. You can sneak a peek using the app, speak into the microphone, and hear any sounds. It even works if you use a cell phone as a mobile hotspot. The key to get things running smoothly is to follow the directions. Your router / wifi MUST be able to use 2.4 GHz (mine has dual bands) and you cannot have special characters in your wifi password. Something that small made my setup a breeze. I called customer service and spoke to a human who answered my questions in a few seconds. It only allows one master device to set up the account and control the camera so your neighbor can't hack into your wifi and view anything. If you want to share the camera link the other user must log in as YOU on the app. Pretty slick.

Wouldn't pair to iPhone
The instructions and the iphone app just stink. I totally reconfigured my router and ensured my phone connected to 2.4GHz. I changed the name of the device each time and scanned the QR code as instructed. After about 30 attempts, I finally caved and I'm an IT guy. Returning.

Impossible DO NOT BUY
I have been on and off trying to connect these cameras to my phone for almost a month. I should have just returned them. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Not worth the hassle
I give this 3 stars because it is relatively inexpensive & very convenient. However, it disconnects from wi-fi quite often & is not always easy to reconnect, the app continuously gives a "network request timeout" which pretty much means you cannot log on, when it does disconnect from wi-fi it beeps obnoxiously every couple minutes in the baby's room & it drains your phone battery at a rapid pace. When it works it is great, but when it doesn't work, it is more stressful than it's worth. Better off spending the extra money on one that doesn't require wi-fi.

Hard to get a connection
Pain to hook up to router. Router is fine, hooks to laptop and phone but not always the camera. I'm in a truckcamper fulltime, small space so distance from router to camera is just feet away....

Customer service horrible
This is probably a good camera with clear images......if you can get it set up. Would not connect to our wi-fi. Called customer service and was given a second # to call. Called it and was referred to first number. Automated selection sends you to previous # that sends you back to first # and so on. Finally after selecting option 5 for parts I got a live person. I was told to download a QR scanning program and set up this way. Did that and it says invalid QR code. called and selected option 5 again. Was told to email a picture of QR code and they would do a hard reset and notify us when to try set up again. 24 hours later no reset and no notification. Leaving for a weekend camping trip and was going to use this for our dogs in the camper. Boxed the camera up for return and left the dogs home with my daughter. Ridiculous. Ordering a different camera.

It is ok
Does provide access from anywhere. Easy enough to set up the connection. Three complaints, though: sometimes lags for a few seconds, the pan and tilt is not smooth - can only adjust the angles in discrete steps, and not suitable for mounting on the ceiling.
