I bought this cover when I was pregnant, hoping it would protect against baby fluids. Well, two weeks after having my son, I awoke in a pool of blood. It turned out I had a retained placenta.I went to the ER where they fixed everything. On the way home I was dreading the mess I would return to. This cover saved the day! My mattress was still good as new. Even better, the white cover cleaned up with a hydrogen peroxide soak, then a normal wash.I also like how thin the cover is. My other cover is the quilted type and takes up too much closet space. So I am tossing the old cover and buying a second one of these.I have also washed the cover 3 times now, and it has held up fine.

I was skeptical about this waterproof test when the packaging came with a spelling mistake (see picture) but I put the mattress protector over a cup and poured water on it and it didn't leak. Some of the surrounding pad seemed to soak up the water on the outer layer but it didn't soak through. I'm washing and drying the pad and testing again but still expect the material to pass the test again. Happy with the product! Inexpensive but works to protect the mattress from fluid.

Product is nice and quiet. Its is definitely NOT waterproof. I got this because my son has the occasional overnight 'accident' and I wanted to protect his new twin size mattress. If you drip a little water on this protector it seems to be waterproof, but does nothing for a full bladder of a 4 yr old. Disappointed.

I've had bad luck with mattress protectors claiming to be waterproof which aren't. In the first month I owned this, it already saved me twice. The first was when my friend came to visit and her son had an accident in the bed. It did not go through. There was a little moisture on the mattress and I figured/hoped it was condensation because it didn't match the spot exactly where the accident happened. A week later I found out I was correct when my son had a bloody nose. The mattress protector was so stained I wish I had taken a photo for this review. The mattress underneath had not one spot of blood on it. Hurray! I used some spray and wash (which was kind of gross because it streaks since it doesn't absorb) and due to leaving town didn't actually wash it until a week later. Came out like a charm.

Arrived a day late, one day after our guests arrived so our new mattress went unprotected for a weekend. ;) So far so good, though. It felt crinkly when we first opened it so I thought it might make sounds or feel uncomfortable but it doesn't! We are using this cover for my kids mattress and I have slept in there and didn't notice anything but comfort. Will update if we have an actual reason to test it.These have been a life-saver in the past. We have super absorbent mattresses from Ikea for bunk beds. One night we had a bed wetter, stripped the sheets with the protective cover, and the mattress was dry. Worth every penny!!

Total junk. I have had this on my 4 1/2 year olds bed for about 7 months. She had her first accident last night. The urine went right through the "waterproof" protector... The mattress is trash now.I wonder if I can do a small claims law suit on this company. $450.00 for the mattress I purchased isn't cheap. I will have to ask my friends wife.So pissed...

I don’t know how it won all these awards cause after 3 or 4 washing’s it’s leaking through to the other side. I’m pretty sure I’ve followed the washing instructions to the t because I know how these things can get degraded w high heat settings or harsh detergents but perhaps making them stretchy will always make them stop working after the 2nd or 3rd wearing. Who knows but I use it now just for extra protection and not the only protection. Gorilla Grip pads work the best for bed wetting.

Invest your money and get this item for a bed wetter in need!Purchased one for our potty trained toddler in case of accidents and to protect new mattresses. Was hesitant at first for pricing but decided to invest it one.It is great! Husband, kids, and I love it! We actually bought 2 more after for our older kid and one as back up.Toddler has had 5+ accidents on it already. No leaks yet! We have washed it a few times of course and item is still in great condition. No rips, tears, etc. It even takes much longer to dry because it is so thick (which I think is a good thing), so after one session in the dryer, I leave it out to hang dry before using it again.Item itself is made of very thick absorbent material that covers top of mattress, with mesh stretchy sides that will cover the whole mattress. We have 8" mattresses for the kids and it wraps all around and under so there is definitely room if you have thicker mattresses. If the kids sleep too actively at night, the cover (sides come off a bit) does move a bit since it's not a tight tight fit, but it's not like coming off or anything. If your sleeper likes to sleep on the edge and wets bed, or brings a bottle/cup of milk/water/etc and spills it right on the edge of the bed, it will soak/stain your mattress. Although the cover goes all around and under the mattress, as mentioned, the sides are mesh material and not thick absorbent kind like top is. So luckily we haven't had this problem and hope not to.The cover is soft and thick and has become the new bedsheet cover. Husband didn't even put bedsheet over it so we use it by self on mattress. The kids liked the feel very much and sleep right on it. I have laid on it to try it, but haven't slept overnight on it personally, however no complaints from kids about feeling too hot or cold sleeping on it. Material doesn't feel like plastic or makes any of that plastic cover noise. It's very soft and comfortable.Like any new bought item please wash before use. It did came with a little smell but it easily went away after a wash.
