Sturdy and Performs Well
I just received my grill via UPS today and it is perfect! I only found one in a local sports store up here in Fairbanks, AK, and it was about $16 more. I figured the $16 plus no shipping with my Amazon Prime account. Anyway, out of the box it's beautiful! Minimal assembly required. No instructions were in the box, but as it's only a few pieces and only two need to attach to each other (the body and the base with the feet), it's pretty straightforward after a glance at the image on the front of the box as to how the draft door functions. It's not too heavy in my opinion but definitely has some weight to it and feels as sturdy as I expected. I will write more after I take it camping in Denali later this month. Can't wait to break it in!EDIT: 1 Dec 2014. I took it camping at Denali National Park and it performed well. I appreciated the even heat, especially with a bit of wind coming through! Only downfall, is I wish it had a hard cover piece to pull over and hold the heat in over top of the grill, but for being wide open on a chilly/breezy day, I got to eat thoroughly cooked chicken and shrimp, so I can't complain too much. It should be noted that I did not flatten the boneless chicken breasts or anything, but instead put them in aluminum foil pouches with some green beans, seasoning, and butter in what I was brought up calling a "Hobo Dinner" so that probably helped. Since I also ordered the soft cover, it felt better storing it, however, I still had to store it inside my truck overnight as it's park policy to do so with anything scented or food related that could attract animals. It's compact enough that it fit very well in the foot space on the passenger side. I felt that dumping out the ashes after use was pretty simple, but cleaning the grates requires a bit of elbow grease. Overall, I think it will make a great addition in future camping endeavors so long as they're not backpacking type endeavors and will also be awesome for tailgating during football season next year when I'm back in the lower 48.

I enjoyed starting the charcoal
Honestly, I'm not a "grill master," I'm just an young woman in her early-20s who has never grilled on anything but a gas grill, and even then, anything that landed on my gas grill was quickly cooked until it was dried out. I had never started charcoal going before, nor had I had any inclination to do so.I was so wrong. This grill has changed everything for me. I know that that is a lofty statement and all, but it is true. I enjoyed starting the charcoal. I enjoyed sitting there watching the coals burn and settle down before I added my chicken. I enjoyed slow cooking the chicken pieces and basting them. Yes, I knocked over my grill and spilled the coals out (an uneven table surface coupled with clumsy hands), BUT I even enjoyed cleaning it up. *Note: I did make sure all the coals were out, soaked them and the ground in water, and everything was fine. It was a simple accident and I never grill near flammable surfaces, and I keep baking soda nearby when any fire is involved.I love this grill. It has only been two days, but I cannot wait to grill again. In fact. I have meat marinating now so that I can grill tomorrow. I'm so excited. If you're thinking about buying this grill, there are a few things to keep in mind:1. It is pretty small. If you're just cooking for you and another person, it's perfect. If you want to cook for more people, just be patient. You should let your meat rest a little anyways, so it's not a huge deal. We have a bunch of friends who I intend to invite over and grill for and I have no worries about this grill working perfectly for us.2. Some have complained of the logo, so you might want to take that into consideration when you are deciding whether to purchase this thing. I'm personally not bothered by it. A good sear isn't an issue for me since I mostly grill chicken, but even if I wasn't grilling chicken, as long as my meat is cooked well and juicy, I'm not so picky. If you are, then just consider cooking on the sides of the logo, or perhaps find a different grill.3. I haven't had this thing long, but others have commented on their seasoning burning off in some places. I just use vegetable oil in my Misto and spray the entire thing down before I use it, and then after I use it, I spray it down again, place it in the oven at 350F and let it bake for an hour, then turn the oven off and let it cool in there. Be sure to line the bottom rack with foil to catch the dripping oil, and consider opening a window, or turning your hood fan on high. It gets a bit smelly. I use a Misto because spraying the oil on is easier for me to ensure that the spaces in between the grates are properly covered with oil. These small crevices can be easily missed, so be sure to look over your cookware a few times to ensure full coverage.4. It's heavy, as all cast iron is. If you don't want to lug this little guy around, consider something lightweight and all.Personally, I love the even cooking temperature of cast iron and Lodge is one of my favorite makers of cast iron cookware ever. If you treat your pieces well, they will last you a very long time. If you have problems with rust, a quick Google search with turn up videos and instructions on how to scour that rust off and re-season your pan. It's not too hard. Yes, cast iron requires more work, but I feel it imparts more flavor and is more versatile. Cast iron cookware can be used on the stove top, on the grill, and in the oven.As far as cons, I have found none as of yet. Again, I've only used this grill once, but I am completely in love. I may update my review as I use it more and let you know how things are going.P.S. try Googling "huli huli" and using the recipe that comes up for that sauce. I'm in Hawaii and I am in love with this style of cooking and this marinade. It's absolutely delicious. I'm lucky enough to be able to just buy the sauce in a container already, but it isn't too hard to make.
