This is a really nice kit. You receive regular thread along with the metallics. You also other sewing items. Very neat and you have numerous empty sections to store many more sewing items. The latch and handle are made of a metallic gold plastic. I love it. Initially I thought it was expensive but it is well worth the price. Glad I went with it!

My husband got me this for Christmas (well, I might have pointed him towards it). Did not realize it comes fully stocked with lots of thread and small tools. Very nice, even if empty. Sturdy with lots of room.

I love having a small container with compartments i can see into for alot of my sewing tools and supplies. It has made a world of difference in my room being a mostly clutter free space (crafters and sewing folks, you know what I mean!) or a crafty version of a hoarders house. LOL It feels a little flimsy but it is plastic and you can choose between lightweight and flimsy feeling or too heavy and sturdy. With care and gentle handling, this will last a long time. The only thing that is awkward is needing to lift up the main panel to access the side panels. It is done to secure the box but it is still a little awkward. Would recommend for anyone with new sewing folks in their life.

This is a useful kit if you just need to organize a small number of thread spools, bobbins, and basic sewing notions--or if you need an on-the-go travel kit. The included threads and notions are far from top quality, but they do the job. I now have over 300 spools of thread and had to graduate to a different spool organizer. I'm now using "Hipiwe 3 Deck Clear A4 File Box" (sold on Amazon) to store my threads.

Overall this kit is perfect for getting started. It had everything I needed! It’s a good value for all of the thread and tools included. The plastic carrying box lacks that Singer quality I was expecting. You have to have the awkward lid piece open in order to access the drawers. The drawers do not slide in and out easily, often being a 2 hand operation. Even some of the plastic looked defective in some spots. I still give it a 5/5 overall for its great functionality but if you are a regular user, I suggest trying something higher quality.

This is a perfect kit for a beginner sewer. Thread seems old and breaks easily, the scissors must be in perfect place to cut even thread. But for a young beginner, this would be a perfect choice.

I picked out this case because I liked the size and portability of it and how it opened up. I also loved the metallic thread that came with it. I have an embroidery machine that I will use that with. You can also use it for sewing too. It also comes with some other threads that are not metallic. On the top of the box, the metallic threads are the ones you see in front. There are 4 spools of them. The rest of the threads are not metallic but pretty colors. They are all full size and there are 14 of them. The next drawer is empty for you to fill up. I have been putting my extra sewing machine foots in there. I have my walking foot, 1/4 seam foot, button hole foot, three different piping foots an sewing needles for my machine. The next level has two side pull out drawers that swing to the side. One of them contains 4 small spools of metallic thread, 8 small spools of colored thread and 12 pre-wound bobbins of various colors of thread. They have also included a dozen empty bobbins. The next drawer has compartmentalized spaces with lift up hinged covers. You will have to pull it all the way out to get to the back area as it hinges in the middle. They did put various snaps, buttons, hooks, hand sewing needles, small safety pins, two needle threaders, thimble and sewing needles in this drawer. You have room to do what you want with this drawer. The last drawer is one big drawer that came with a pair of scissors, measuring tapes, seam ripper, a small pin cushion and a metal seam ruler. I was able to fit my large pair of Gingher shears in there and magnetic needle holder. I had no idea it came with so much stuff. It does open and close at the bottom with a latch and you must pull that all the way open to the top to access all the drawers. I love that it is clear and I can see the threads on top. It is pretty and I am super thrilled with it. I didn't want the typical sewing box that you have to dig through. This one keeps everything organized. You could even label the front of the drawers to know what you have in each drawer. I am thinking of doing that with my label machine next.

Great sewing kit. Seems sturdy. Comes with the essentials plus more.
