so close to perfect... but straw attachement leaks
This sippy cup is so close to being perfect. My son is 1 and really likes straw cups. We live in Phoenix and really need an insulated cup for outings. Finding a good insulated straw cup has proven to be impossible. This cup does have a lot of great features: removable handles, cover, and stainless steel with a rubber sleeve make it awesome for little hands and keeping beverages cold. However there is one huge downfall. The valve you use for the straw attachment is NOT leak proof. The straw valve is completely open and only serves to attach the straw to the top of the cup. If the cup gets tossed, like ours do frequently, the straw will leak lots of fluid. This cup would be perfect if the straw was able to attach to the sippy valve (which is leak proof, unless shaken upside down) AND to the open straw valve. It would then be the perfect cup for all ages. Leak proof sippy with some fluid restriction for younger kids(if your kid is like mine, if he gets too much in his mouth, like he does with this cup with the straw valve, anything extra gets spit out. Which equals spit out milk all over the place.) For older kids the wide open straw valve is perfect - wide open straw cup with out any fluid restrictions for those that know not to throw the cup :) I really really hope they make a spill proof valve for the straw. Regardless my son totally loves this cup - even in sippy mode since we're not at the point of using the straw without it leaking like crazy.UPDATE: At first I thought the sippy valve was leak proof. Wrong. We used it in the stroller the other day and it wasn't upright the entire time - it spent some time on its side - and we ended up with wet pants and a wet stroller. So disappointed! It seems that if the cup is on it's side that any tiny movement will case drops of liquid to come out. A few drops I wouldn't have a problem with. But this leaked so bad our stroller was totally wet and my sons pants were soaked. At this point I'm going to stick with playtex insulated straw cups. While they are plastic and don't keep beverages as cold they don't leak for us EVER. I'd rather bring a little cooler pack than deal with milk all over my son, car, stroller, etc.

not perfect, but one of the best I've found
it isn't a perfect sippy--as far as I can tell, and I have tried a bunch, the perfect sippy doesn't exist (one that is leak proof, bpa free, and doesn't have a complicated valve system that might cause palette problems).pros: after you get the hang of taking the silicone sleeve on and off it really isn't that hard to get it thoroughly clean, it is bpa free, it is stainless steel which makes it quite durable (it might get a little dented, but it won't crack when your toddler "drops" it on the floor), although it technically has a valve, the valve is more like an internal cross-cut nipple than a traditional sippy cup valve (in other words, your child can get the liquid out without needing to apply too much pressure), as long as your child doesn't bang it around too much it won't leak a lot (yes, it will leak a little if it is turned upside down or if it is shaken)cons: until you get the hang of putting the sleeve on it is a major pain in the tuchus, the valve is internal and relatively small and easy to misplace, the spout is backwards to the way most bottles and sippies work which means that if usually use this sippy and try others your child might want to drink backwards (the best way to drink from it is to have the spout angled away from you), and it isn't leak proof (I have seen some of the traditional sippy cups that can be practically used as footballs and they won't leak)overall, this is the best non-traditional sippy we have tried and I would recommend it for anyone who isn't looking for a traditional sippy. is it the best out there for my family? yes. is it the best for your family? it depends on whether it is what you are looking for.

The cup arrived quickly, but dirty. It is packaged in a box where you can touch the product through the box. No biggie, we just washed it and it was okay. I have researched many stainless steel cups and have a couple different ones already. I love this cup for my 1 year old. When it is in the sippy cup mode, it DOES NOT LEAK AT ALL!!! I can shake it and throw it and it will not leak. If you put the straw in it, it will leak slightly (in the directions that come with the cup, it will tell you that in straw mode, it will leak and needs to be used with older children who will not shake or throw the cup).To address all the review saying you cannot suck anything through the sippy part, well that was true at first. If you look at the valve please make sure the X is all the way cut. The two I ordered were not all the way cut open. I had to take a sharp knife and finish making the X. I did not cut any more than what was already template out on the insert, but I did cut it so that it would open up like it is supposed to. After doing that, the cup still does not leak!!This cup is not double insulated, so a drink will not stay cold forever, but it will still stay cold for a while. Also, since it is not double insulated, the stainless part does get very cold to the touch. The silicone grip does however help with that, but still can get cold. Also it is difficult to put into a diaper bag pocket because of that grip. It can be done, just a little harder because it is grippy!

Good sippy cup for my daughter
I like this bottle for my 11 month old daughter .we have been using it with no problems since she was about 8 months old with the straw attachment. It is easy to clean and the travel cap is very handy. It's very sturdy my daughter has thrown this numerous times on a Hard floor and it has not been damaged. I've never had it leaking either. I didnt want a sippy cup made completely out of plastic. So since only the top if the sippy cup is plastic it was a winner for me.

Happy with the item
Very much satisfied with this product. My little one used to spill water after drawing from the bottle. This bottle actually holds back the water within it and leaves my baby dry.

Great product. I am ordering additional as my daughter loves this cup. The only negative is that the rubber (?) sleeve that goes around it is super hard to put back on after washing and so we have left it off. My daughter throws this cup all the time so it is very dented, I'm sure the rubber would have prevented this. Regardless its the only cup my daughter will drink from by herself and it taught her to use a straw. Easy to hand wash.
