Makita MAC5501G 5.5 HP Gas Air Compressor

I have mixed reviews on this compressor but overall it’s a work horse.Within the first week both air filter elements popped off, Makita pressed the compressor air filter cover onto the mounting screw instead of letting the screw pass through the cover. Easy fix, drilled a hole in and ran screw correctly.The ribbed heat exchanger/connecting interstate tube protrudes above the belt guard making it an subjective to damage. Again easy fix, I made a Z channel out of 2” aluminum right angle and installed onto belt coverThrottle Control Cable broke within first 6 months of use, installed a new one and now getting a clicking noise, I will update when I find the sourceParts can be tough to find, I wish Amazon would show related repair partsOverall this compressor works well, compressor can run 2 coil guns when installing sub floor without me slowing down my nailing and run 6 coil guns when building walls

We received this product in a shredded box where the compressor had been stood on its nose all the oil drained into the cylinder and froze up the piston had to drain all the oil out and take the spark plug out plus dings and nicks all over a brand new $1100 compressor and it came a week late little bit ridiculous I think

I purchased this for my husband and he loves it! He said its not annoyingly loud and works great. It took a minute for him to figure out how to move it around with the front wheel because of the weight but once he got the hang of it he said its very easy to move around.

Very nice compressor for the money. I took off the tire and blocks and bolted it to my work truck

Workhorse, But Rattles and wishing a year the compressor broke.This thing was some tweaking required when we got it. The pulley system rubbed out of the box badly on the shroud. Even after adjusting it rattled and nothing seemed to stop that.This thing puts good air out, and has great air drains that are actually easy to use for daily tank draining.Almost one year old today and this week the compressor broke inside somehow. The engine runs great still, but the compressor is toast with about 30 hours of use, and ONLY 1 year warranty!

One "Michae Jackson" bad machine, I've only got to run 4 roofing guns at same time so, but it kept just fine and I'm sure it could do another as well!!!

Starts everytime. I use it to blow out machinery and air up tires. I don't know how I survived without one.

Runs like a champ! Puts out air for days! This ships with all oil necessary in the compressor and the Honda Motor. Good fit and finish! Glad I got it.
