If you are new to Dante, the vast collection of allusions to classical themes and beings will be accessible through the extensive notes provided here. Also, the punctuation will prove vital to reading meaningfully. It is easy to get lost within a sentence or two if you’re not paying attention to this. This is an immense work, so proceed carefully if you wish to benefit from it.
