Works fine but a longer probe would be better. for
The temperature reading seem accurate but a longer probe would be better for large (10 ltr) jam pans.

Stops me burning the jam.
Easy to use and well suited to a country lifestyle and sized garden. Plenty of fruit both F1 and wild in my garden.

doesnt always stay upright in the saucepan so becomes a stickly mess and hot to pick out
doesnt stay upright in saucepan even though there is a clip on it. it then slips into the fudge I was making and becomes difficult to get out of the saucepan and mixture is too hot

Made candy apples correct for the first time!
I needed one of these in my life! It was the first time in a few years that I could get candy apples to the correct temperature. We have tried so many times before. Its cheap and cheerful and does the job.

Temperature reader is too high inside the pin - doesn't read temperature correctly
The product seemed to be of a good quality but when I used it I realised the actual temperature reader is half way up the metal pin which is useless for anything less than that. I would have to cook a lot of sugar syrup to actually reach the reader or quite a lot of jam for this to be useful unfortunately. If your making larger quantities this will probably work better but when I made a sugar syrup for a nougat the thermostat only reached 105C so I checked with another probe and it was at 145C with colour so the reader was well off the actual temperature which made me overcook my syrup.Sadly this product did not serve it's purpose and to do so I would have to use much larger quantities which I won't as it would be wasted.
