WMF Manaos / Bistro Serving Spoon

This is a very nice serving spoon. I bought it as a gift but I'm so impressed with it I ended up purchasing more for myself. I'm also going to be purchasing other items from this line. The serving spoon is comfortable to hold and has a nice weight to it. It has a nice finish and it washes will both in the sink and in the dishwasher. The simple design of this serving spoon matches my other flatware fine. Not an exact match but it doesn't stick out as looking very different either - that's a plus. I use this spoon for serving vegetables, mashed potatoes and even gravy. It's very useful and multipurpose. I plan on purchasing the WMF Manaos / Bistro Sauce Ladle soon as I'm sure that will be even better for sauces/gravies though. All in all I'm very pleased with this serving spoon and will be purchasing more from this line - both for myself and for gifts.

We purchased these after a lot of search and looking. They are simple yet elegant and the look can fit in with any set of flatware. It is a 18/10 steel which wont stain and is long lasting. From what i researched these spoons are built to last long. I like them and i had purchased some other well known brand from a local store but the WMF ones definitely stand out.I recommend them to anyone with a good taste and who wants a great looking and durable set of serving spoons.It is a good buy and its 18/10 steel, which will make it last long, and not let it get stained.Stainless steel is made by many iron alloys.18/10 refers to chromium and nickel in the steel. (18% Chromium 10% Nickel)18/10 (18% Chromium 10% Nickel) is the best followed by18/8 (18% Chromium 8% Nickel)and 18/0.(18% Chromium 0% Nickel)Chromium makes it durable and resists rust, stains and the nickel gives it its soft glow like silver.

I purchased this to use with strawberry ice cream topping for a neighborhood ice cream social. It was absolutely perfect for this. The length of the handle works well -- it's long enough to keep fingers a safe distance from the sticky stuff, but not so long that it's unwieldy.I'm anticipating getting more use out of it for other types of sauces. This is a *smaller* ladle, definitely not for soups or stews -- but the perfect size for sauces and toppings. The style is relatively plain, so it will pair nicely with other patterns (my flatware is Oneida Juilliard, and it's perfect with that).I may end up purchasing additional serving pieces from this line, It's well made, with a nice mirror finish.

Nice size serving spoon. At almost 10 inches long it is ideal for table service. The handle extends approximately 6 3/4" to the scoop (3 1/4" x 2 1/2") Not as heavy as it appears. A nice feature since heavier spoons tend to fall out of bowls. Although not heavy the spoon has ample heft, and is very sturdy. Great addition to any table. Since this is a German company I was hoping for a Germany product, but at this price I wasn't surprised that it's "made in China" Still good quality at a very reasonable price.

I was so excited to receive this beautiful serving piece that I immediately made a lasagna to test it out (well that and I really like lasagna so it was the perfect excuse to make one...). This server worked perfectly and the lasagna pieces didn't fall apart as I served them like they did when I tried to use my cake server (trust me that was a bad plan). Could you use a regular spatula to do this? yYes. Would it look elegant at a dinner party like this does? Nope. Highly recommend this and am very happy my husband bought it on one of his amazon shopping sprees!

After discontinuing my Prime membership last year, my Amazon orders have become parodies of false economy: to qualify for "free" shipping, I'll now routinely spend twice or three times as much as I'd intended to. This spoon was originally used to raise a $40 cart above the magic threshold, but I'm happy to report it's become so much more than that.All my silverware is utilitarian stainless steel stuff that's been in my family for decades. This spoon brings a conspicuous burst of bling, and its mirror finish and elegant, flowing lines add a welcome touch of ceremony to even the most numbing microwave meal. The long handle adds a touch of class and really elevates the aesthetic of my grease-smeared Tupperware. Highly recommended for injecting a little joy into your dinner routine.

I'm very pleased with my olive spoon. The style of this spoon is different than others, instead of a "ball" at the end of the spoon which scoops up an individual olive, this one is long and narrow. It will only hold about 3 olives and is long and narrow - perfect to pull olives out of the tall narrow olive jars. The spoon itself seems well made, and has a classy look and feel and the metal seems high quality. Exactly what I was hoping for.

This is certainly a well-made sturdy ladle. But I ordered it based on it's dimensions of 7 x 2.2 x 1.8 to both fit my gravy boat yet to hold sufficient gravy to only need one or two spoonfuls for less chance of spills. I was very excited about the 1.8 depth as many amazon ladle's are only 0.5 deep. Again, I wanted to limited the spoon's trips to the plate. Unfortunately this one was only 0.5" and held less than an ounce (0.8) when completely full to the brim. Further it's supposed to be 7 inches in length but it's shorter--it's holder lists it as 6 3/4. I realize this is only a 1/4 less than stated, but this means there is less to hang onto especially if gravy gets onto the handle from the boat's resting area for the spoon. I wish the ladles on amazon would mention how many ounces the spoons hold. Only a few do. This would make comparison of the ladles easier. Since my old ladle, which is also only 0.5 deep, holds a full ounce (It's wider--2.5.) I'm returning this one.

Loving the Manaos stainless serving set. As you can see I had to have the cake spatula as well. Definitely ordering more Manaos. I am done with the cheap stuff.
