Amazing
I had been using Breeze Pellet litter for the past few years but noticed that when I would wash their litter box every other month the urine corroded certain parts of the toilet. The price of their pellets was increasing. Also since they pee on the pellets it would retain the smell and the whole bathroom would smell awful. One of my cats would refuse to go near it and poop on the ground b/c of the smell. Did some research and decided to try this out. Cats love it! I use Catit Pea Husk Clumping cat litter since I hate sand. They have Vanilla and Lavender scent and it's not an overpowering smell. The pad underneath needs to be changed every 3-4 days, don't let it get drenched or you'll have to clean urine that seeped under the pad. The screen needs to be replaced every other month and they're not expensive. My only itty bitty complaint is that there isn't anywhere to hook the scooper anywhere.

Liners…wish they were more universal

I like it!
I am really pleased with this, so far! I use a fine silica litter that changes colors when your cat uses it, and this is a really nice complement to it. With my other basic litter box I can get wet clumps at the bottom and I know they are making more ammonia because the litter changes color. This doesn’t so that and there isn’t a color change, so I feel like the air flow is really helping. My cat is 15+ pounds and this seems fine for him, and it’s about the same size as our other basic boxes. The only downside is price, but if it extends the life of the litter before I have to change it out completely that might easily be worth the cost.

Great for my needs
This litterbox is mostly great, but I think that Cateco is missing a potentially chunk of market capture by creating a system too similar to the pellet and pad system from a different brand.Full disclosure: I am a wood pellet user. The litter box comes with several pieces including a removable screen called an aerator. The holes are too fine to allow the sawdust that wood pellets create to go through, so I bought some stainless steel mesh and created my own and I line the bottom piece where the pad would typically go with a garbage bag.I like the high walls for my cat. I like that it is so easy to disassemble and clean as well. The bottom tray is extremely easy to become dislodged from the top part but as long as you keep that in mind it's not a big deal. I just hold the top part down and I have the box on a rug and shake the entire thing so that saw dust falls through the mesh and solids rise to the top. I toss the solids and change the garbage bag every few days.I've found that my modifications have made using this with wood pellets to be pretty awesome, at the very least, better than what I was doing before, and I don't go through as much litter because liquids do travel through the wood pellets instead of getting absorbed completely. I've never had a guest tell me they smell a litter box and being really self conscious about it, I ask anyone who walks through the door.I know this product was designed for the more hardy pellet and pad system, but if Cateco offered a specialized liner and an aerator screen more appropriate for wood pellets, they'd get 5 stars from me. In the meantime, I'm really happy that I was at least able to modify the box to suit my needs in a way that doesn't damage it should I ever decide to try things Cateco's way.

I use with pine pellets and it works great!
Us pine pellets users get creative to find a good litter box system since no one is selling an elevated sifter yet. I happened across this litter box and thought I could make it work with a few adjustments. So far so good! I removed the mesh aerator and replaced it with a hooking mesh canvas. Then I used wood blocks (you can also use 2in pvc) to elevate the box. Then I just put a liner in the bottom and wallah. I scoop the poop every other day and change the liner every other week. And I never smell it. It's so easy I changed my mind about buying a litter robot.

Wish the pan underneath was snapped in place or something
Didn’t like the fact that the little pan underneath doesn’t stay on when you pick up the litter box. I normally pour the box into a sifter and you get a HUGE mess when you pick up the box to do that.

The wall addition makes the box too small for large cats.
Large cats are unable to turn around with the additional wall extension but male cats may spray above the wall without it. The bottom tray holding the pad has a 1" post in the middle causing a gap in the pad for pee to go under the pad. If the cat pees on the sides, the pee will also go on the handles then leak under the pad. Any litter with small particles will collect between the wall and the piece holding the mesh, making it impossible to clean without having to dig out hardened litter or to take it apart in order to clean. The concept of airflow is great but the box design needs to be improved.

An improvement on an already great litter box
My cat had the previous version of the Cateco box but the sides were lower, resulting in quite a bit of kicked out litter. When I a saw the new box with the higher sides, I ordered it immediately. The box is very easy to clean and, if one uses clumping litter, almost odor free. The airflow from underneath seems to assist the clumping action and very rarely does any of the urine get as far as the "piddle pad" in the bottom tray. The higher sides greatly reduce litter kicking/tracking and allow a deeper 3-4 inches of litter to allow clumping litter (any brand works) to do its magic. There's no need for expensive crystal or corncob litter. Regular old bucket litter works just fine. All told, it has reduced both ammonia odors and litter tracking, Additionally, the supplied rake/scoop is well contoured to fit the corners and sides of the pan. It's a win.
