Best cooler on the market
This is a wonderful cooler. It is expensive but it held 55lbs of frozen meat for 5 days on a road trip in the middle of August. Worth every penny not to worry about the product thawing before it got to its destination. We never had to put ice on it. Meat was frozen soild and solidly packed and arrived still frozen. The ice chest is light in itself allowing it to still be fairly easy to move when loaded. It is well built. The size allows you to pack a lot in it but still be able to left. The wheels make it extremely easy to get from one place to another. The seal is tight. This is a great cooler. Expensive but worth every bit.

Don’t waste your time reviewing and pull the trigger!
I researchEd A LOT of coolers and finally decided to go with the Blue do to the size offered and some product tests that I watched. There are other brands out there with really cool colors but it ultimately came down to value and performance. I am familiar with Yeti - this cooler is VERY close to a yeti in performance. SIZE - perfect at 55! Banana and Beer for size. I wasn’t sure how much would fit in here with a load of ice but it holds a lot of cans and food. PERFORMANCE - I pre-chilled and packed with ice, beer and food during a road trip where the cooler was mostly in the car the whole time. Mind you it was September in Arizona and New Mexico so the interior of the car was 100 degrees when not driving. I was surprised that after day 6 there was still some ice and still very cold! All in all I am extremely pleased and for anyone that OVER-REVIEWS things like I do - I can safely say this product is awesome. PS - just a few small thing - bottle open is great and very secure. I was afraid it would be flimsy. The handles are awesome and something I did not realize is that there are 2 handles on each side! The rope for assistance in carrying and handles built in for carrying it on your own... it’s something simple but was very cool to find. Lid and hinges seem to be a big deal in the world of coolers and both are very good.

Great cooler at a great price
This is a really great cooler. It keeps ice for days. It can also keep hot things hot. I cooked my Thanksgiving turkey ahead of time. I wrapped it in foil and threw it in this bad boy with a bunch of towels. It was still hot after 3 hours in the cooler!! I really like the drain plug too. It is really easy to unscrew and drain out any water in your cooler. One con is the weight. This is a pretty hefty cooler when it is empty. Adding weight like a bunch of cans, ice, and other stuff still definitely make carrying it a two-man job.

I Purchased a Blue Cooler 60w over a Pelican. Here's Why..
Against the recommendations of others, I decided to buy and keep the Blue Cooler 60w instead of the Pelican 45qt Wheeled Cooler. I was looking to purchase a cooler for multi-day solo and couple's camping and purchased both units on Amazon for Memorial Day. Both coolers were dimensionally the same size, but the Blue Cooler holds 15 quarts more space than the Pelican. Blue Cooler Pros: The Blue Cooler 60w is Roto-molded and rated to hold ice for 10 days. [I conducted my own ice retention test in my rear-shaded patio for nine days in 100-degree weather]. The latches, rubber seal, and pull-handle are thicker, reliable, and more durable than the Pelican's. The Blue nameplate is riveted to the body of the cooler and will never come off, and the corners of the lip are reinforced with stainless steel edges. The pull handle is heavy-duty metal with rubber bicycle-type handle grips. The cooler is easy to pull and maneuver. The price-- $319 (vs $372). The Blue's skin is thick and commensurate with Pelican's. Pelican Cons: Pelican latches are made of chinsy-plastic that often break (which explains why every used Pelican for sale on FB marketplace has broken latches) Albeit, Pelican units have a lifetime warranty, they are too cumbersome to submit for warranty replacement and wait for the parts to arrive in the mail to replace the part yourself. The Pelican brand name stickers on the cooler easily peel off and were delaminating straight out of the box upon delivery. The pull handle on the Pelican is a joke, and the handle is made of the same hallowed-plastic that children's toys are made of. There is also this weird block design that pivots and pushes on the cooler plastic rolling to cooler around, which I don't see as a long-term solution for portability and movement. Price-- $372 (vs $319). When I tested this unit against the Blue Cool for ice retention, the Pelican was only able to hold ice for three days. Pelican Pros: The two things that the Pelican cooler has over the Blue Cooler 60w [that I found] were the larger wheels and the retention wire on the drain plug. That's it. I guess, if you are pulling your cooler down a dirt trail over rocks and ruts, and you are worried about losing the plug-- those are benefits. I returned the Pelican and kept the Blue cooler-- which was clearly the smart choice.

Works great, stays cool
I love this ice chest, I compared it to the Yety ice chest and it actually works better. The ice lasted way longer, and way better price.

This cooler did not meet my expectations
If this cooler holds ice 12 days as it claims the test must have been conducted inside an igloo in Alaska in mid-winter. I put a 16lb bag of ice, a frozen gallon jug of ice and half filled it with drinks that had already been cooled. On day three most the ice was gone, and I had to add more. We only opened it 3 times a day. I paid the higher price believing the hype. It is well made, and attractive to look at but I don't think it is any better at holding ice then much cheaper brands. My last expensive cooler I purchased at Tractor Supply for well under half of what I paid for this one. It did just as well holding ice and weighted much less. The draw back on it was there is no place to buy replacement parts.

6 day trip and zero ice melt

Have been using for several months, this cooler is better than expected. But, beware, it is very heavy!

Well, I could give zero stars if I can. It says will hold ice for ten days, but the ice melted in less than 12 hours in an air conditioned room. I think this is an overhyped and over priced item that doesn't meet its stated goals. I'm trying to return it now.
