The reality is that most vanilla beans grown, harvested, and cured by indigenous farmers are done without the use of any unnatural chemicals or additives.

Which method are these beans cured?

These vanilla beans are cured in the traditional method. They are cured for 14 days in the sun. At night, they are packed into sweating boxes to reduce moisture. They are then stored in curing boxes for an additional 4 months where they develop fragrance even further, as well as allowing time to convert glucovanillin into vanillin. The result is a superior vanilla bean.

What is the difference between grade a and grade b beans? And why does the seller say these are not suitable for extract?

There are many differences in Grade A vs. Grade B vanilla beans. The most notable would be the moisture content. Grade A are at least 30-35% moisture, but do not exceed 38%. Grade B can range from 15-25% moisture content. Grade A is considered to be a versatile bean. It CAN be used for extract. It is IDEAL for uses in baking where the vanilla bean needs to be split and the caviar to be scraped out. Grade B often is difficult or dangerous risking injury where the knife may roll and cut the user, and is not recommended to be split.

Quality Product, Not the VERY Best, but still TOL

These vanilla beans were as quality. They smell Soo good, are plump & tasty, and just really cool to handle and inhale. I didn't want to wash hands afterward. I added 140 grams uncut to a one-liter bottle of vodka, see you in about 18 months. Fun super easy, not too expensive!
