Kitchen Gizmo All Purpose Grater for Hard Cheese, Chocolate, Nuts and More

Works great on small chunks of cheese. If you want to shred a softer cheese, try putting the cheese in the freezer for a little while before grating. Can't use this with very large chunks, but I find that more manageable anyway. I just slice the large block into smaller blocks and use it that way. There seems to be less cheese unable to be shredded. Can use for shredding larger amounts or just enough for one. I really like it. This product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.

Doesn't seem to keep enough pressure on cheese block to grate very well. I decided to give this to a relative and they seem to like it very much.

It doesn't work as described. Does not work on hard cheese! I'll stick with my knuckle buster. Thru it away!

This has only one plus for someone with arthritis. The cheese lies flat on the grating surface and grates evenly. However, the stroke is little more than an inch and hardly any cheese comes out with such brief contact. That means I have to keep squeezing the handle, and squeezing, and squeezing. After all that work, there is hardly any cheese in the plate. An old fashioned drum grater can put out more than that with a single turn of the handle. Also, there is very little room for cheese in the hopper, which means that only small bits can be grated in the first place.Then there is the lack of instructions on how to set up the thing. It took me 15 minutes to figure out how to turn the knobs so that the grating plate can be installed. Not only that, but I'm not strong enough to turn them by hand (arthritis). So I had to use part of the gizmo itself as a wrench, and aligning the slots was tricky. In the end, it doesn't work as well as the "old" "ugly" design graters that it is supposed to supplant. What I have is essentially a candidate for the plastics recycling bin.

Loved the concept. This does not work with only one hand. It takes 2 hands to load anything that you want to put in it to grate. It also does not chop nuts satisfactory

Just pulled this out of the box and tried it; so amazing! It is easy to put together and easy to use. The quality seems quite good and I'm hopeful that it can hold up to all the usage it's going to get!

Great for young hands, not for us older folks with arthritis. I'll be giving this as a Bridal shower give. I tested it myself, but it's difficult on aging hands.Great design, and truly dishwasher safe. Cool object to pass around the table for people to grate their own.Hard cheese is recommended. Softer cheeses get a bit mushy and also are harder to grate.

Disappointed. Takes forever to grate cheese. I've gone back to my old grater. Surprised it got such good reciews
