Wooden Gingerbread House Countdown to Christmas Advent Calendar 10.5 x 8 x 9.5 H

I purchased 4 of these for kids/grandkids. The 7 grandkids (<8 y/o) love them. The parents not so much. There is no way more than a candy kiss will fit in any of the little boxes/ although I knew this when i made the purchase. I purchased small burlap bags to accompany this item, but parents are guessing how to incorporate the two. The houses are well decorated and delightful to look at and the little drawers work well. Since this is a seasonal item, it will not get much use - thankfully because the materials and construction are iffy. Although with careful handling and storage it should last a number of years. The houses arrived separately. In EACH box, was an invoice noting $27.99. My price through Amazon was $59.96. I tried to resolve this first with the HearthSong (name and number on the invoice) and then with an Amazon customer service rep, but was ultimately unable to do so.I would buy this item again!My child with 3 children of his own could not make this work as intended and has asked me to return it. While it is delightful to look at, it is impractical for a 3 child household.

I was looking for a advent calendar that could be cherished for years and even passed down. I saw this and read reviews and figured I would purchase it.It arrived today and I am more than thrilled with it. It is the perfect size, not too big, but not super small. My 2 year old daughter loves it! In fact, she even said "I love it mommy!"As stated in previous reviews the drawers are made of mdf, but who cares. The visible parts are real wood. Also, they won't fit much, a couple of Hershey's kisses or something of the like. Other people are complaining about the size, but come on! It's just supposed to be a treat, not a toy!The only issue I had was one drawer was missing the knob. I messaged the seller and within an hour I received a response and they are shipping a new one. So excellent customer service too!Very pleased and happy to have this new treasure in our house for Christmas! Looking forward to years of use! It is absolutely beautiful!

I've wanted an advent calendar for the longest time and this year, I decided to go ahead and increase my budget to purchase one that would be not only appealing aesthetically but also reusable for the years to come, and this one was exactly what I was looking for. The product is lovely as pictured and true to its description. Three notes, however: (1) the cubbies are small - perhaps big enough to house a Hershey's kiss or two - and so I would double-check to ensure that whatever you want to place in them fits within the measurements listed in the description prior to purchasing; (2) upon closer inspection, you can find one or two "hints" that the item was handmade (at least to a certain extent), such as the hardened trail-off of glue, which I don't mind at all since the imperfections, in my opinion, give it a more homemade feel, but for those looking for the "perfect" product, you may not find it with this; and (3) not a criticism but a tip: the "cubbies" come out easily and so when removing the item from its box, be sure to confirm that all cubbies are in prior to throwing the box out as they might have come out in the delivery process. All in all, I don't see myself replacing this calendar anytime soon for it looks every bit lovely on my mantel.

I started a new tradition with my girls this year. The gingerbread house is so super cute. Its missing one of the tiny red handles but otherwise its in perfect condition. The drawers are very small so you have to get creative in coming up with things besides candy to put in them. I found some very adorable buttons shaped like all kinds of cute things at walmart in the sewing section. But stickers or tattoos would make good prizes too. Wish I had started this years ago!

Excellent condition, packaged well, fast shipping. The house is adorable with no issues at all!The house feel sturdy and the doors are easy to take in and out. I am not worried about my toddler handling it under my supervision.The inner dimensions of the boxes are 26mm wide, 39mm long and 28mm deep. I could easily fit both a round hard mint and jolly rancher candy or 1 Hershey miniature (slanted). More than enough room for 1-2 small treats. If you need room for big gifts or treats, this will not work.

I was looking for an Advent calendar for my 2 children to share that would last for years instead of buying each of them disposable boxes with the perforated windows to retrieve little chocolates. This gingerbread house is absolutely adorable, substantial, and well-made. I am looking forward to filling the tiny drawers with various chocolates of my choice from a local chocolatier and little toys which my kids collect. The only negative thing I have to say is that the drawer with the door is disappointingly small. I wish it were larger since it is the culmination of the countdown. I had also looked at the $80+ wooden Advent calendars, but preferred the cuteness of this one to match any decor compared to the traditional, Victorian themes of the more expensive ones which were also lovely.
