Phenomenal! An absolutely amazing keyboard. Key action is a bit stiff compared to some weighted keyboards but I really like it, they have an almost ivory feel. Be sure to play one at your local music shop before you order (test out a glissando, you'll be pleasantly surprised! :) ) . It is lightweight and I recommend a good grippy stand to prevent it from shaking too much as you jam on it, with that said, it is very solid and in no way seems flimsy or fragile. I was concerned the screen would be too small, but after getting used to it I think it's good and easy to read with fair vision,The quality of the sound is out of this world. I cannot describe how perfect the voices are. It's like playing a $70,000 grand piano, then press two buttons and you're playing a $5,000 vintage organ, then play as an entire orchestra , then let master drummer play the beat with you as you play one of the hundreds of beautiful synths. The sounds are rich, full, fuzzy, tight, warm. Effects add so much but be prepared to spend a lot of time learning how to work everything. There are four manuals. The Yamaha website has them weirdly titled so I uploaded them here:[...][...][...][...]Be sure to check out Yamaha rebates and promotions to see if you can get any freebies with your purchase.I do get annoyed that when I turn it on it defaults to the Moxf8 performance and I have to switch to voice, then go to preset bank 1 just to get to the grand piano, but I'm sure there's an easy way to set up the launch I just haven't learned it yet.To those who complain about it being too complicated, if this keyboard were any simpler to use, it would sacrifice more than half of its capabilities. It is a monster of a machine yet somehow somewhat intuitive and certainly worth every penny. You don't have to spend hours on end to learn it's basic functions. You can just plug and play! But it will take a while to really learn how to navigate and set up this keyboard just they way you want it. You get out what you put in. I can't wait tell I'm fluent and able to breeze through it's functions.I have noticed that maybe 1 in 4000+/- notes I play either is lagged / delayed or doubled. Its not debilitating and hardly noticeable. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Also, I have experienced one single freeze with the interface so far. Great sound, tons of features, good value.
Having lots of fun with this thing. Sound is excellent, weighted touch sensitive keys feel great. No quite as good as my piano, but then again the piano was a LOT more expensive. And this thing is a LOT more fun. Amazing what you can get for so little money these days.Everything Yamaha makes is well designed and reliable. I even buy Yamaha manufacturing equipment at work. I am never dissappointed.I am new to synths, so a better manual would be nice. My CASIO watch has more information in its manual than this thing. That is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. And so far it seems like the only way I can get a metronome click is to be in record mode. Anyone know a better way?Bottom line is that I am certain it will take years to learn everything this can do. And I am looking forward to every moment.

This may be the best synth workstation for it's price range
I have several of the MO series and for the value... and best bang for the buck this synthesizer is truly amazing for being an older synthesizer. It has warm sound and very accommodating pads and synths along with very punchy vibrant sounds and bass's.The onboard pattern chain sequencer make this a blast and easy to navigate and you can chain them together to create a full song. They feel of the keys is what impressed me. Compared to the MOD, these keys feel great and the sounds are so much better. One last thing, It is spot on with today's DAWs. Connecting to PC (running windows 11) and using your favorite software is a breeze and they keyboard is super responsive and also acts a a full controller along with sequencer controls.Worth every buck! I recommend this production synthesizer.

WHAT? I have to purchase my own speakers or headphones?
This is not a product evaluation yet. Was extremely excited to receive my Yamaha keyboard only to find out after it had no built in speakers!!! So I can't hear the sound until I make another purchase! Seriously Yamaha??? For that price you would think they would at least include headphones!

Good grief, they make real pianos
I purchased a new unit from a dealer. 8 months later it has 28 keys rattling loudly. After my unit sat at an authorized service tech for 2 weeks, I called to find that Yamaha had finally authorized a "one time" key bed replacement. The authorized tech also showed me two other MOXF8s in for the same issue....only both had already had key beds replaced only 6 months earlier! So. Yamaha has a serious keybed design flaw. I'm surprised they haven't simply fixed it already. Good grief, they make real pianos, so this is not something they are unfamiliar with. Yes, the sounds are great. But I can't own an instrument that needs a new keybed every 8 months. Sheesh.
