K'nex Double Doom Roller Coaster Building Set

Purchased this as a random Christmas gift, as my girlfriend had commented that she never had Knex or Legos as a kid. She instantly lit up Christmas morning, and started working on it. Over the course of the past week I have heard laughter and witnessed so many smiles as it brought so much joy to a overworked and over stressed RN and college student. Last night we both finished it together and watched the roller coaster come to life on our kitchen table! Thank you Knex for a awesome set! Highly recommended for kids of all ages, yes even the adult ones!

Absolutely awesome rollercoaster kit from K'nex! My 5 year old loves this because he can follow the steps. Occasionally we have to help him snap some of the pieces together (he is only 5), but otherwise he can do it all by himself. The pieces are a bit bigger than the K’NEX Thrill Rides – Infinite Journey Roller Coaster Building Set (we love this too, but the pieces are definitely smaller). These pieces are the same size as the basic K'nex building kit, so it's much easier for little hands. The directions are clear and the final rollercoaster is so cool. And we absolutely love that this kit makes two different rollercoasters. This design definitely deserves 5 stars. Also, so happy that it's made in the USA. When my son's friends come to play this is definitely something that they all focus on immediately. We will continue to buy K'nex!

This set is so much fun! At first I was disappointed because a few pieces were missing out of the box, but I contacted K'nex and they were GREAT about fixing it. It wasn't too difficult to set up if you've used k'nex (or even legos or other similar building toys) before. I can see how the instructions might be a little tricky at first to get; it is all done in pictures and sometimes it's hard to spot which pieces are the new ones so you can see where to put them. They also will turn the structure in the picture (in the instructions) and not tell you with a symbol or anything so at first that could be a little confusing. But once you get used to the instructions and get it set up it's a great set! There's a motor to make the roller coaster go around just like a real one. Not only will it entertain kids, but my cat loves to try to catch the roller coaster too! lol

We are really enjoying this coaster. It was fairly challenging to put together (my 9, 11, and 15 year old sons did most of it, it took several hours). At first it worked perfectly, but after a few days of play the cars had trouble making it all the way around the coaster. I called customer service and they are sending out new cars - I'm very happy with their customer service response and am looking forward to playing some more once the new cars arrive.

This was a Birthday gift for a 10 year old boy who loves to build. He built this on his own. He did have to add a few pieces to get the chain out of the way of the coaster cars, but as an avid builder, it wasn’t hard to do. He added lights to the cars and even named the cars! The whole family enjoys watching this coaster go!

Super price and awesome product. I had one absolutely thrilled grandson on Christmas day, believe me :) You won't be disappointed in this - it is very impressive looking and makes quite an impact when seen by the recipient!!

This is our 3rd K'nex set that we have purchased from Amazon and it was well worth it. My son had a long of fun putting this one together and showing it off to everyone. The only problem is that he won't take it apart and it's been a fixture on our dining room table for a couple of weeks now. It's very cool to look at though and it kept my son busy for a good part of the day and night.

It was fun to build this, a bit fiddly in places and the photographs of the instructions could be a bit more clearer and detailed. I'm not an engineer of any kind as many of the other reviewers seem to be but didn't think the building too daunting even though it first did look like it when all the pieces were on the floor in their little piles waiting for their turn. I got it for my 7 year old.The box states that it's suitable for ages 9+ but a 7 year old with an interest to build and create would love it. But when the thing was built, everyone kind of lost interest in it after watching the cars going round and round for awhile. Seemed a bit anticlimactic. The batteries also wore off very quickly. I think Legos are better.

Brought as a present but the little boy receiving it absolutely loved it and had great fun building with his daddy! It arrived quickly was a bit fiddly to put together but is great fun once built
