the best sub for the money...period.
I designed/built high-end/reference loudspeakers for many years, worked with the best audio designers in the business. Bought this to go with a pair of Vanatoo Zero active speakers....simply put.... This Andrew Jones sub is truly a find, wonderful performance for a small/medium room unless you want absurd bass (and most want absurd bass). Very accurate, fast, clean....a very well executed small sub that is a class leader for desktop systems and/or smaller systems. btw....the Vanatoo Zero's are AMAZING...$299 will not get you a better near-field monitor anywhere else.

All about the bass
Not even 1 hour of listening yet and this sub with my ELAC Debut B6 speakers is a winner. Powered by a Rogue Sphinx V2 integrated Amp with a Rega RP1 turntable. Great setup. This sub hits hard, goes pretty deep and integrates well.

Nice Sub!
Great bass in a small package. Using this as a second sub to a much larger one. This one is used behind the listener and you can feel it in your chest when it fires during a movie etc. Good product at this price point!

Big sound, but also a big black box on the floor. It's worth it.
This is an adjustable subwoofer, capable of very low tones (even the so-called brown note). I tend not to turn it up too loud, we have neighbors, after all. It reproduces the lowest sounds and really pulls you into the onscreen atmosphere or the full orchestral opera on a lazy day. Nice looking for a subwoofer, it really is a big black box on the floor, but what else should it look like? Also handy for a standing dog to rest her head upon.

Good subwoofer, with some limitations
Pros: powerful (used in large room), blends exceptionally well with all the speakers I used with it (I use it for music only), front port that make it easy to position close to a wall.Cons: esthetically unimpressive, necessite careful positioning to get the best of it, and not neutral. Has a “signature” sound that I like, but is different from other subwoofers, and may not please everybody. Can sound boomy with some records, pushes mid bass well, lower bass less, which does not always give the bass depth that gives a fully rounded bass, but is still very pleasant to listen to, it is not a one note speaker, it plays notes, which is adequate for music. Good complement to speakers that have some mid bass weakness.

A supurb sub !!!
I have to say this sub is a wow factor ! I purchased it to replace my Pioneer SW-8MK2 that is a good sub but not big enough for my living room. I recommend all Andrew Jones products to anyone. This Elac sub is amazing and has accurate deep base, I tried other products Like Sony 10in and the Klipsh 10in and returned both of them, This Elac rises above all of them, it performes like sub in the $1000 dollar catagory, definetly a bargain !

Simply Brilliant
Thank you, Andrew Jones. This is a brilliantly engineered subwoofer. I have heard units costing ten times more that are not as good. Especially brilliantly rendered organ music. Everything is there.

Clear, Deep Sound for music and video
Deep Bass. I use in a medium size room (16 by 20) paired with Elac debut B6 front speakers. I play at 1/2 volume for tv and low volume music. I turn down a little when i crank up the volume. It pairs well with the B6's. Now I'll be lookin for good deal on the Elac center channel speaker. Maybe around Christmas time.
