I guess it depends on where the wound is that one is treating, but for me, I found this product did more harm than good. I have a pressure sore near my hip. Because of the location, I find it hard to keep dressings on it. They either bunch up, come loose, or soak up water when I shower.This product turns into a gel when it is applied. As such, for me a dressing needs to be put over it, or the gel will just be soaked up by whatever clothing I wear over it. But the gel tends to migrate, loosening the edges of whatever dressing is placed over it, no matter how good the dressing is. Then the dressing comes a loose a bit, bunches up, and puts more pressure on the wound. That is not good for the wound.Maybe there are applications where this stuff works fine. If the wound is in an area where dressings aren't prone to coming loose, it might work well. But for me, a paraplegic with a wound in an area where it is already difficult to keep dressings on, this product just does not work.I note that this is called a dressing itself. I don't see how it could be used without something over it, since it turns into a gel that comes off easily. I suspect there might be areas of the body where it could be effective. But be careful when deciding to use it. Make sure you are using it in an area where you either don't need to cover it up as it turns to a gel, or in an area where any dressing you put over it will stay on well, even with the gel under it.
