There is no point in trying the alternatives, I already did
Near perfection! This clock is extremely clear, plenty bright, easily visible and legible from almost any angle, does not matter how bright the room is, it's always perfectly visible. The screen will darken at night, but it does this by time, not by the ambient brightness. So if you want to take a nap, watch a movie, or anything not at night, this will be too bright unless it's really far away. If I had the health and mental capacity to remember to constantly change the brightness or take a rag off of it after a nap, then this would be no issue, but seeing as how it is supposed to be a set it once and then never touch it kind of thing(out of genuine necessity), this is a major design flaw. It also needs to show the number of the month in addition to the name. It also gets confusing at night. It starts saying night at a good time, but after midnight it keeps saying night until morning. So in one night you will see two different days at night, which is difficult enough for me, but the next night, you are going to see night along with the same day it was "yesterday". This is big problem for me under two circumstances caused by the same sleep problem. 1: if I am reverse cycling, or even partially reverse cycling, it is very hard to tell what day of the week it is. Let's face it, I need the help of this clock, so I am really not going to be able to constantly check the day of the week against the a.m. vs p.m., and when I wake up the next night and it says the same day of the week as "yesterday" it gets even more confusing. I know that there isn't enough space, but putting NIGHT (BEGINNING OF WEDNESDAY) / NIGHT (END OF WEDNESDAY) or THE Day, would clear this up. This is especially important when I have an appointment. The second circumstance is when I wake up near midnight or noon. In these cases, especially waking up at/around midnight, causes a lot of confusion when I just see the day of the week and NIGHT. In these situations, I can't tell if I am waking up/going to sleep at the beginning of the day or the end. The not knowing what day I am going to sleep on(waking up at noon) is just as important because I have no idea what tomorrow is going to be. So I miss appointments. I realize that people will likely have trouble relating to this, but this is the purpose of this clock and the reason for getting it. I really have no sense of time. And I can't keep track of what day it is at all. I can ask someone who will tell me that it's Tuesday, but I will not be able to keep that in mind for very long. I need to keep looking at the clock to know what day of the week it is. This is the main reason that everyone who needs this clock needs it. I realize that this is a very difficult problem to solve and I don't hold it against the product. It's just something that I would like to see dealt with in the next model. Another thing is that this clock isn't atomic. So it doesn't set itself or adjust back to the right time after several months of drift, which happens to any clock not connected to the internet or the atomic clock signal. This is something that I have the ability to deal with now, but as I deteriorate, I will not, so if I don't have someone to correct the clock about once a month, I will be more and more off of the correct time. And if they change when daylight saving time is again, I am in big trouble 2-4 times a year, depending on how far the current switch is from the change. The clock does remember the date and time if there is a power outage, so there's no need to worry about that.Basically this is an amazing product. It has helped me more than I thought possible. It's priced too high, but after trying lots of the less expensive options, I have to say that this is well worth the money. The problems I have listed are not at all deal breakers, they are just things that need to be watched when it comes to the people close to whomever needs this clock and will hopefully be dealt with by the manufacturer

Great Clock!
I mounted this clock in a location that offers a good vantage point from anywhere in an 1,100 square foot basement that I just finished. The LED screen is bright and crisp and the clock design is high-quality. I love the fact that it sets the time and adjusts to and from daylight savings automatically. It's smaller than I anticipated and fairly lightweight. Also if you're mounting it on drywall with the intention to run the cord through the other end or into a recessed outlet, the contour of the back of the clock allows you to nicely hide the cord from sight (see picture). It gets a lot of positive comments immediately.

so great and perfect for hard of seeing
so good for anyone with site problems or memory loss. Large print, tells you everything you know, even when to take your meds. GREAT!!! only thing is there is NO battery backup, so if you live in a place were you have a lot of power outages, it will not stay on, but it will be at the right date and time when replugged in, so there must be in interior retainage somehow.

Great clock for people with Alzheimers
I have a parent with Alzheimer's who would always complain about not knowing what day or time it was and would get confused looking at a calendar or find the date/time on a cell phone. This is a great clock as it is very easy to set up and has a large display. Centrally located in a main room this clock really helps her.

Can't live without my clock
My husband ordered this for me. He ordered 2. I have 1 in the kitchen and I can tell what day it is and the time and date. The other one is in my bedroom and I can see it from my bed. I have told other people about it and they brought 1 and love it also. It is so good for people in assisted living because they just look at it and know if it is morning or afternoon or night. It is a life saver for them.

Great clock for the retired.
My parents are long retired, and had trouble remembering the day of the week. This clock solved the problem. Now, instead of wondering what day it is, they confidently look at their calendar and see what's happening today. The unit came preset with the correct date day and date, but set to Eastern time; all I had to do was change it for their time zone. When I moved it around the house, it retained its settings, so it evidently has a very long internal battery backup (nothing user-accessible).I don't know whether it will change to Standard time since it never asked the time zone or if DST was in effect--we'll see. If not, it's a shame because this is basically an 8" tablet with a fair amount of programming and memory available. The only other downside is the buttons on the back are not marked, just indented and concentric black circles. The elderly my have trouble making adjustments if DST is not automatic.

Easy to read and set it up!
We bought this Clear Digital Clock for our 90 year old aunt who has short term memory lost due to age. She would constantly ask us the date or time whether over the phone or in person. Calendars don't work for her anymore. The clock was delivered about 2 business day upon order. It was exactly as it looks on Amazon'so website. We set it up in the kitchen for her. Our aunt is amaze and loves it. She said it was easy to read and clock itself is fancy those were her exact words. I strongly recommend this product to anyone with vision or memory impairments. We would buy another one for our dad. My only concern is that, this clock would last at least a year.

Outstanding customer support
I got this clock at the end of June for my 100 year old father who is living at a soldier's home. He was very happy with the clock and checked it often. I came to visit at the end of August and found the clock face down on his night table. The display had one black band and the rest was white, no time, no date, no response to anything but the on/off button. I suspect that it got knocked off the night table and was damaged when it hit the floor. When I wrote to Clear Clock and asked if the clock could be repaired I was told that they would send a replacement, no charge. When the new clock came in the time and date were already set. The clock is now bolted to the wall and Dad is happy again, just in time for his 101st birthday.
