I purchased this photocell to replace the one from an old outdoor light on my property. The original broken photocell was not installed with the intension of ever being replaced. But replacement was just a matter of wiring the new one onto the existing wires for the old one... and then figuring out how to convert the old housing to fit in this new photocell which has a completely different shape and size than my old one. If you don't have some basic electrical experience (or can't assure yourself or your work of electrical safety) and perhaps some basic construction/crafting know how, please don't attempt this kind of jerry rigging. But the product works as labeled.Know this as well... upon install, I attempted to test the photocell by shielding it of any light exposure to get it to trip my light bulb on. But my light bulb wouldn't trip on. I first thought I either installed it wrong, or it didn't work as advertised. I decided to wait until nightfall. After nightfall, the light bulb came on! Been working flawlessly ever since. Go figure. Apparently there is a mechanism build into the photocell to prevent false tripping during the day. So you must wait until night fall to assure it's working properly... or maybe shield the photocell from light for much longer than I did anyway.

10 minute job after I cut the power off. Only 3 wires and just removed old one and replaced new one at the same time to ensure wire connection was correct. My only issue was the hole from previous sensor was small, so I had to make electric eye hole bigger. No big deal, but did take a few extra minutes to enlarge hole. Workes as expected.. Thanks

I had a photo cell for about 7 years like this that worked well. It died so I replaced it... but the replacement didn’t work. So I put up with my dusk to dawn pole lights being on all the time for 6 months. I got this baby and it works great. “Back in the saddle again...”

These photo cells appear to be higher quality than the ones that they replaced. They were ready for installation and they came with a clear protective cover to keep the lens from being exposed to the elements. They have worked perfectly through the first month.

The media could not be loaded. I have purchased 3 of these in the last 6 months and I'm done with them. Initially I thought water was getting in and break them but looks like these are just junk.DO NOT BUY

Do the job it supposed to do. Th wiring is simple, but the little paper instructions that come with it is wrong. Just follow the instructions on this site photo for wiring

I paired this with a wireless switch and put lights around the pool. Works awesome

this is the 2 time I order a sensor in 2 year the other one did not last
