Awesome Book
I loved reading this book! It was so uplifting to read about two people with Aspberger's who have such positive attitudes (well, Jerry is the more morose of the two, but he is determined to live life to the fullest). This is the love story between Jerry and Mary who have such separate, disparate experiences with their cases of Asperger's. We learn their individual ways of dealing with "Aspie". Jerry actually starts the first Asperger's support group run by adults with Asperberger's. After Jerry and Mary meet, fall in love and get married, Steven Spielberg buys the rights to their story and produces a movie! Their stories are absolutely engaging and make the book difficult to put down. We get a rare glimpse into how some Aspies think and feel. It is so worth the price of the book. I highly recommend it.

Thank you for sharing an Aspie Marriage with the World!
Let me start by saying I read this book twice-- AND saw the movie. The subject was of such interest to me as someone with AS married to someone also on the Spectrum, I was starved for information as to how someone else's AS marriage works. And the book delivered in spades. I liked the way it alternated between Jerry and Mary taking turns telling stories of their difficult childhoods, suicide attempts, and the highs and lows of their marriage.I found it rang true in every respect and gave me further insight into Autism Spectrum Disorder AND into my own AS marriage of 23 years. It taught me about the good and bad aspects of an AS marriage. Fundamentally, although there are many, many things specific to an AS marriage, the book is about the triumph of love. For in the end, understanding one's spouse's idiosyncracies is mandatory for any marriage-- AS or otherwise. This book offers a beacon of hope for those on the Spectrum who think marriage is beyond them. One should never give up, for love conquers all.

Intriguing book for anyone interested in Asperger's Syndrome
This is a great book. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in Asperger's Syndrome. It's sort of an unconventional romance, but it enables one to learn about Jerry and Mary individually and as a couple, which was interesting. The way in which the story was told can be a bit confusing. Whenever you see the date on the top left corner, note that the person speaking has switched (Jerry and Mary both narrate). I loved being able to read about the same scenes from each point of view. Both writing styles were refreshing and different from what I typically see in these days. It'll also help you see the flaws with the way their story was depicted on film. To me, it seemed a bit bittersweet, but you'll learn from it. I haven't found another book about Asperger's so compelling. I'd definitely recommend this book. It's hard to put this one down!

Great insight into the minds of Aspies
My brother has Asperger Syndrome, so I love reading books by and about Aspies. I felt like this one gave a powerful view at how they think, and it was wonderfully matched with a lively, interesting story. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I heard it is great, and I will be ordering it soon.

Freaking confusing
Obviously these two are not writers. They go on and on and on about details I could care less about. Get to the point and don't embellish in every sentence. It switches from him talking about himself to her talking about herself but they never give you a heads-up on when it switches. This is a terrible book! I'm having an autistic meltdown just trying to read it.

Fascinating Asperger's Love Story
Sure thing, Jerry was so clumsy that he had found it quite hard to deal with women. However, I must say that applies to me somehow, which really embarrassed me quite a lot. I used to try in vain to ask out several girls when I was younger, but it didn't work. I still have no idea why I was so unpopular with women, but whatever reasons Jerry and I had, this kind of lonely life frustrated both Jerry and me. That's why I feel falling in love is quite a challenge to people with Asperger Syndrome(AS). Not all of them are clumsy about love, just in case.I was quite amazed to find Jerry recognized his AS traits objectively as he saw the famous film, Rain Man. He shouted the answer to the very difficult math question Raymond was asked, which was quite embarrassing in the movie theater, though. Both Raymond and Jerry were autistic - I think this motivated him to find his AS. Both of them were very good at calculation by heart! Moreover, he came to join the organization of people with autism called AGUA(=Adult Gathering United Autism), where he met an AS woman Mary who he fell in love with and got married to! I guess that drastically changed their lives. Not everything went well with each other; they divorced once and remarried. However, Jerry had mellowed a lot and quit shouting at Mary like he used to, which helped each other relax quite a lot. I'm sure they won't get divorced for the rest of their lives.

Good Love Story
A good idea of a meeting between two people with Aspergers, but a bit over the top for real life.
