ZTE Axon Factory Unlocked Phone, 32 GB Phthalo Blue

Great phone. I've had the phone for about 8 months already and I still love this phone.Sound Quality:Sound quality is great for both playing videos/music or taking calls. However, I find it worth mentioning that while the design makes it appear as though the speaker spans the width of the phone, the speaker and microphone is about a pinkie's width under the holed design. Despite that, it still has great sound quality and I never had an issue with it. When plugging in earphones I don't have any issue whatsoever either.Camera Quality:Great camera quality! With a 13 MP back camera it takes pretty amazing photos. Took some incredibly scenic, high quality photos that someone once asked me what I took the photo with and thought I took them with a professional camera. Video quality is good. However, I experienced one hiccup with my phone regarding video. For some reason, my phone doesn't record sound until about a second into the video so there is about a second of video that is void of sound. My brother has the same phone as me, but his phone doesn't have this problem. I don't find it to be that big of a deal.Functionality:I found it to be fast and responsive. Over time, I have experienced my phone becoming slower but I write that off to just my available storage disappearing and how many times I've dropped it without a case. It still works fast enough for my needs.Design:Wonderful design. Sleek and easy on the eyes. I got the gold version. It was of a nice aluminum feel and it feels solid in the hand.Would recommend this product!

Came on time as promised. After 5 days of use very pleased with this purchasePros:Great value at $200Smooth performance.Large bright display.Strong battery performance.Cons:Software updates (3 of them), took quite a long time as with each install there was the inevitable re-optimization of all apps. A cumulative update would be welcome.System software only at 5.1.1 not sure when this will updateHeadphones only work in one ear. Verified with several devices. Not a phone problem but the headphones themselves came dead.

Nice looking phone. It works well. Worth the price. Update: I returned the phone after using for only a couple of days. The phone overheats when charging, and downloading updates. There was a small 42mb update and the phone heated up to 105 f. The back of the phone was very hot to the touch. During a large update it would probably shut down or burn out. At the least the life of the phone would be cut way short from the overheating. Also there is an extra button on the right bottom for the camera. The camera would come on with the phone in my pocket. This phone would be really good if those problems would be corrected.

Very smooth for daily use. Good screen quality.Great GPS. Catch signal very fast without network help. Even high in the air.Excellent camera. Beats iPhone. I took some night shoot with manual set up. The result has many detail and very small noise like a DLSR.Very loud and clear speaker. Even better with earphone.Only small complain is power management. Sometime a not terminated thread drain batteries.

Functional

You can hear perfectly on calls, and the sound for audio is amazing. When you set your alarm on this phone. You're definitely waking up. This has no SD card spot on this. Which is a down fall. This is a unlocked phone. But you need a nano Sim card ( which is the smallest Sim card to work in this phone) camera is great. Very fast at scrolling. Overall, this is a great phone for its price.

After using it for a couple weeks, I am very disappointed. As soon as I receive my new phone (I will not be exchanging for another one of these) I will be returning the ZTE Axon.

I purchased this phone based on the strong reviews and the hardware specs. Five months into owning it and I'm ready to move on. The hardware is actually quite good, what's holding the phone back is the software. This phone originally shipped with Android Lollipop. Guess what version of Android the phone is running 1.5 years after release. That's right Lollipop. This phone hasn't seen an OS update in its entire life. I wasn't expecting Nougat on this device, but I fully expected an update to Lollipop as did most of the other people who purchased this handset. Most handsets receive at least one OS update in their lifecycle. ZTE has abandoned all of the people that purchased this handset. They ignore all requests for information or updates on whether there will ever be an update for this phone.If the phone performed well this would be less of an issue. But it doesn't. It is laggy and occasionally completely unresponsive. Some button presses take 3 or 4 seconds to execute. All issues that could be fixed with a software update. But that has never happened. I am going to chalk this up to a learning experience and move on from this device.It's unfortunate. The hardware really is very nice. The design is pleasant and the screen is sharp. But none of that matters if the core experience suffers because of the sub-par OS support.
