Cryorig R1 Universal CR-R1B Dual Tower CPU Heatsink with XF140 and Xt140 Fans

I am using the Cryorig R1 Universal on an Intel Core i7-6700k processor, on an Asus Maximus Hero VIII motherboard. The cooler fit is perfect and provides just enough clearance (about 1/16") for the 4 sticks of Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4 RAM which has somewhat tall and fairly wide heat-spreaders. Plenty of clearance for the side panel of the CM Storm Trooper case as well.At stock speeds, I'm getting 28 Celsius idle temperatures, and during heavy loading with stress tests, the CPU maxes out at about 67 Celsius. When overclocked to 4.8 GHz, idle temperatures raise to 34 Celsius and 72 Celsius respectively. Note the maximum temps are under heavy stress testing that is not indicative of normal use. Under normal use during gaming or processing and transcoding high-definition videos, CPU temperatures average 48 - 50 Celsius. These temperatures are achieved while letting the motherboard handle the fan PWM tasks on standard speed control settings.Installation was easy and quick. The provided alcohol pad, thermal paste, and screwderiver was a nice touch. Everything provided made for a simple installation with no extra parts or tools needed beyond what Cryorig provided.The fans are virtually inaudible inside the case with the computer running. The entire system is so quiet I have to press my ear to the case in order to hear any sound from the system at all.The fit and finish of the R1 Universal cooler is excellent. It is truly a gorgeous looking cooler as well, I have gotten nothing but compliments on how nice it looks. So it looks great and performs excellent too. I couldn't be happier with it.

The media could not be loaded.  Easy to install. Works well, runs quietly, & maintains low temperatures on my CPU. i7-8700K not delidded, with profiles to run at 4.2 GHz, 4.5 GHz, & 4.8 GHz according to needs. Using the included CP7 Thermal paste. Ambient temperature of my house is 24 C. Idle temps are 33-35 C & under load 40-45 C. Not compatible with a Gigabyte X99-SLI motherboard due to memory card interference. Really disappointed because I researched this as best as I could to try and avoid this. Now it is just a pretty boat anchor.

Pros:Easy to install.Excellent Cooling.Looks awesome.Cons:The 25mm fan makes a slight clicking sound, and the 15mm fan is a bit noisy (typical of thin profile fans)! In the end, they're alright and get the job done, and as long as your computer isn't up on a desk a couple feet away from you (like mine), you'll never notice them. I just replaced them with ones that sound nicer!

Cooler is gigantic and can keep my 8700k between 65-75 @ 5GHz, no delidding. It barely cleared the Meshify C glass panel by only a few mm. The 10mm front fans is quite awesome and have zero issue with ANY size ram (im using Team Group Dark Pro DDR4) which us 45ish mm and wont clear if I use the R1 ultimate.I was pretty disappointed that Amazon sent me an open box version where all the parts were raided except the heatsink itself ( fans, installation brackets, and thermal paste were not in the box) so I had to send it back and get another one. I had to settle for using an Intel stock cooler (had one lying around) for a few days to get a replacement. OH my, the IDLE temp using the stock intel cooler was hitting 45-50 C!!! I undervolt the CPU for a few days just to get my build to post and install Win10. Now it sits around 28-30C at idle with the R1.The installation is quite simple and straight forward for socket 1155. All you need is in the box, hiqh quality paste and phillips screwdriver to tighten. You do need to take off fans to make it easier I had my setup in the case already so it was a little tighter, but manageable.Overall, cooler is no noctua d15, but comes close. Reason i bought it is because well, i hate color scheme of the noctua and i wouldve been limited to low profile RAM sticks. You might be able to get maybe 2-3c lower with the noctuas, but overall i like them.

Middle fan is LOUD!

Beautiful CPU fan extremely big it is bearly fitting in my case unfortunately, almost hits my tempered glass panel. But fits perfectly in my Asus z370-a motherboard. Installation instructions was crystal clear and easy. But it's 53'c on my 8700k with no turboclock and runs as high as 80'c on farcry 5 :( so bye bye turbo clock

Keeps my 4770k nice and cool with plenty of room to OC, looks amazing and the build quality cannot be overstated. Also important is that the mounting was super easy and the fans are really, really quiet. For 90 USD you get exactly what you hope for, with excellent RAM compatibility as a really neat bonus. If you want no compromises for a high end CPU cooler can't go wrong with the R1 Universal.
