Awakening Shakti

Wonderful book! I read it during Navrati and was the perfect time to understand the Goddess. It describes the mythological origin of main Indian Goddess, focusing on their qualities we should aim to embrace and suggesting ways to connect with Shakti in its different manifestation. It is the kind of book you want to work with again and again. I really recommend it as a meditation and awakening tool.

Great book

People are often motivated to write reviews because something is wrong, and so I didn‘t write a review about "Awakening Shakti: The Transformative Power of the Goddesses of Yoga" by Sally Kempton until now because there just isn‘t any reason to complain about it. The book is a valuable source of knowledge for readers interested in Hinduism, taking a somewhat unusual approach by focusing on its goddesses, who often may be less known or misunderstood by readers from cultures where god is primarily understood as male. The book skillfully blends factual information about the nature and the history of the goddesses (which seems to be accurate, although I could only judge the chapter about Radha) with personal experiences and meditations, thus encouraging the readers to focus on what the goddesses mean to them personally. Moreover, the book portrays the goddesses in artful line drawings, making this book a perfect guide to help you explore the feminine side of the divine.

Il est évident que Sally Kempton connait son sujet, Elle offre une perspective très constructive sur la mythologie hindou. La description précise, poétique mais pas trop, et non dénuée d'humour des Déesses, qui représentent chacune un aspect particulier de la Femme, peut inspirer la lectrice à s'ouvrir sur des possibilités atteignables, réalistes, de s' ouvrir sur bien des possibilités d'évolution de soi-même en soi-même et de soi même dans le monde d'aujourd'hui. Les hommes ont là une mine d'or pour mieux - beaucoup mieux -différent de juste "plus") connaître leur(s) amoureuse(s). Un régal pour les amoureux de L'Inde, un beau voyage exotique pour les Amoureux - plein de graines de fleurs superbes.
