TOPS Knives Tops TEX Creek XL Knife TEX-XL

Beautiful knife!! Super thick blade, comes sharp and feels great in the hand. 10/10 knife, would recommend!! Also the sheath is very well made, may have to remove and re insert the knife a few times to break it in.

Let me start with the handles, since that seems to be a sore subject with some reviewers. The handle is small and relatively short compared with the blade. For a person with large or x-large hands, this might be a deal breaker. For me, it was the reason I bought the knife. Guys, if you have a lady who hunts or does camp or bushcraft with you, or ladies who just love to do these activities, this is our knife. The handle fits my hand perfectly!!! I have large hands for a woman, and the circumference and length is spot on for me. The business end is awesome. Plenty of blade and belly, but still well balanced. The leather sheath is nice, but I will replace with kydex. I'm the leftie who almost always has to customize my knifes. I also prefer kydex for quality and durability. I live in an area with high humidity, so rust is always a consideration. Leather retains moisture. Tops makes awesome knives, but the carry systems leave a bit to be desired for the price point. An ambidextrous kydex system would make them unbeaten in production knives, IMHO. For me, Esee currently holds that spot. For the price, quality, durability, and all around system, they are number one. Tops is right there except the carry system, which is a huge part of choosing a knife. For right handed leather fans, this one is for you.

Absolutely AWESOME!! My new favorite! Shaving sharp out of the box. GREAT sheath ! LOVE Tops river wash finish. Would have given it 5 stars , but the micarta scales are a little thin, (but that's just my OCD) It still feels great in hand , no hotspots. Come on TOPS, quit being stingy with the micarta!! THICK HANDLE SCALES PLEASE!! Other than the slightly thin handle scales, ( which I will fix with some liners) , this is a perfect knife.

Excellent knife! Sheath is thin and the knife poked right thru it. The knife is worth the purchase tho.

My husband loves this knife. He has many Tops Knives and every one of them has been quality. This knife is no exception, the blade came extremely sharp. The handle and blade finish are great and the balance is superb. The sheath is good quality but not great however who buys a knife for the sheath ? There are plenty of aftermarket sheaths available in any carry configuration you could possibly want. Best of all the price is very affordable. Typical Tops quality through and through.

knife is good quality and fit and finish is nice. very sharp out of the box and is holding well thus far. my only slight gripe is that the scales are kinda thin, as mentioned by others. leather sheath is ok.. no frills, not bad or anything i was just expecting something a little nicer. 30 mins of wet forming and heating/ drying sorted out the fit and retention. it will do until a make something lets.

I love this knife. Excellent craftsmanship, fit and finish is awesome. Blade heavy, which is what I want in a knife like this. Though the grip is a little thin, it works well with my girly hands (not that there's anything wrong with girly hands). Though some kydex fanboys are giving the sheath low marks, it's actually a very well made leather sheath, and no expense was spared in the quality of the leather, design or stitching. If you must have kydex, there are numerous companies that make a kydex sheath specifically for the Tex Creek XL. The knife and sheath combo is really a very good buy at this price point.
