I used this 3M headlight restoration kit on a set of older headlights that had gotten cloudy and dull over time. The kit was easy enough to use, and I was happy with the results. The sanding discs worked well and the instructions were pretty straightforward. It does take a little time and effort, especially during the sanding steps, but the headlights came out noticeably clearer when I was finished. I also liked that the kit included the masking tape and protectant, so I didn't have to buy a bunch of extra stuff separately. Overall, it did exactly what I bought it for and made a big improvement in the appearance of the headlights. Good product and definitely worth the effort.

Worked great. Bought 2 kits to do both my cars. Advice, take your time and follow directions exactly as written and you should have good results ( it will probably depend on how damaged your headlights are), mine were 15 and 16 years old and they look brand new. The kit comes with 500, 800, and 3000 grit for the final polish before using the protective clear pads. Being in the automotive refinish business for almost 40 years I thought the jump from 800 to 3000 was a bit much but it worked great. On the second set of lights I used 2000 grit to mock down the 800 grit scratches before using the 3000 grit the kit came with, what a difference. The 3000 actually polished the 2000 SO much easier. In the end, the results for both sets were the same, both sets of lights looked brand new. It says it lasts 18 months so we’ll see. I would definitely recommend using this kit but I’ll say it again. Follow the directions exactly as written.

I bought this for my 9‑year‑old car because my headlights were cloudy and making night driving annoying. I spent a Saturday afternoon in my driveway after finishing my home office paperwork. The directions are clear enough. I just followed each sanding step, then used the polish and the wax. My arms were tired but the lenses looked a lot clearer and less yellow when I finished. I liked that the masking tape was included so I did not scratch the paint. The one thing that really made me glad was taking a late grocery run and noticing the road actually looked brighter.

This kit worked really well and brought my headlights back to life. The instructions were easy to follow, and I’m happy with the results. My only suggestion would be to include a thicker masking tape. The tape that’s included is a bit thin, so if you’re not careful, the sandpaper can accidentally touch and scratch your car’s paint around the headlights. Using a thicker tape would provide better protection and make the process even safer. Overall, it’s a great product, and I would definitely recommend it.

I have not tried every restoration system out there, so I cannot state that this is the best system, but I can tell you that this is a solid solution that you will be happy with. To level set, no restoration kit will ever restore your headlight lenses to factory new condition. But this one gets them close. For the same reasons, I cannot state that this kit is the best value, but I can say that anything that works well at any price is a better value than something that does not work well at a lower price. One of the chief complaints of headlight restoration kits is that the restoration does not last. That's because most of the kits out there attempt to "fill in" the scratches, and eventually that filler washes out, disintegrates, or whatever. This kit actually polishes the plastic to *remove* the scratches. As such, the process takes longer and is more fiddly. The extra effort though results in a better looking and longer lasting result. I bought this kit 2 years ago, and my headlights look as good as the day I finished using the kit. The results you will get will depend on your patience and your willingness to understand and follow the instructions exactly. Read the directions carefully, do exactly what they say, for as long as they say. I spent - if I recall - about 45 minutes on each headlight. - Your headlights will look much worse initially, and you may think you are doing more harm than good. Don't be paranoid. Complete the course, finish all the steps. Once you get through the first two grits, each step after that will look better and better. - The instructions will warn you to avoid lingering in one spot with the power drill. That warning worried me, but it's really easy to avoid, and you can tell when you're doing it right. Be gentle, don't push too hard, and keep moving. - It may also look like they haven't given you enough of the different polishing pads, but my headlights are huge and I had extras. - Mask carefully, because you will run off the edge of the headlights and you don't want to scratch your paint. If you wear down the masking tape, stop and apply more. - When it comes time to wipe on the polymer, again, do it exactly as they tell you. Exactly. You only get just enough to get it done and you only get one shot to make it look right. Make sure you are fully prepped before tearing open the packet. - Do this in a garage or in the shade. Anyway, that's my advice. You won't be disappointed with this kit.

Product works great at clearing up, headlight, yellowing and frosting. Made a huge difference for visibility and transparency of the lens. The only question is how long will it last and will additional treatments yield the same result? For the price and ease of use it’s pretty remarkable product. Just have to make sure you have a drill and it’s specifies a certain RPM because if you run faster than that, you can melt the lens in spots. All in all I’m very satisfied, especially for the price.

The is an amazing product. My headlights look like they're brand new. Trust the process. The set of instructions are well written. Take your time with each step. Don't rush the process. At first you may think what? how is this going to work, especially when you start with the 500 grit sanding disk. It's cloudy (normal) but as you go through each type of sanding disk using more and more finer sanding disks you get more and more clarity on the headlights. Then comes the clear coat as the finale. Wow!

Bought this for my little college beater car because the headlights were super cloudy and I hate driving back from late labs with dim lights. I watched a quick YouTube video, then just followed the steps. The sanding took a bit of effort but not hard. I taped around the lights, used the discs, then wiped on the protectant. My roommate held her phone flashlight so we could see better in the parking lot and we were both kind of shocked at how clear they looked. They straight up look newer and night driving feels less sketchy now. Really glad I grabbed this instead of paying a shop.

It did not disappoint, never thought my 2010 OEM Mini Cooper headlights will look like new again.

Me dejo impresionado, solo tienes que tener paciencia, utiliza una almohadilla por faro de cada grado (la tercera es para ambos faros) y tomate tu tiempo, vale la pena mis faros quedaron como nuevos (15 años de uso) nunca les había dado un tratamiento, me ahorre 7000 pesos para no comprar unos faros nuevos, tengo una JF crusier 2010, simplemente lo recomiendo

Excellent product. Instructions state to wet sand only on the final sanding grit. I used a spray bottle to continuously wet the the headlight while sanding on all grits to evacuate the sanded material from the sanding paper. This produced excellent results. When applying the coating with the wipes, follow instructions carefully, slow side to side motions, slowing down if bubbles/foam forms. Don't take to long to apply or reapply before initial coat has set, the coating will form lines if the product starts to dry and gets tacky.
