It' a long story, but not for another time!
The boxed and weighty, two volume set of "Third Wish" by Robert Folghum fills out some of the short stories told in his book, "What on Earth Have I Done?: Stories, Observations, and Affirmations," and also sojourns on into new territory as well.A "peculiar sojourn" is an apt description of this work.I would like to believe that this epic, human, exploration of relationships and place is as much fact as it is fiction. My hope is that many of the characters are fictionally enhanced versions of real Folghum friends and acquaintances. By observing the weaving of their life's journeys to discover, I wished to also become fictionalized and perhaps reserve a table near-by to overhear a meeting of the Jumwillies. The physical book and accompanying CD are a joy to hold. The double thick stock and variety of sparsely and lushly drawn illustrations make the reading experience well worth the weight of each volume. This is not your typical Folghum tale. It is rich in detail and delicious in its intricacies. If you have a fondness for peculiar people and circumstances, then you will find a banquet of possibilities that will be very satisfying for your reading consumption. Take your time and enjoy the journey, because even with both rather large volumes, alas the tale ends far too soon.Well done Mr. Folghum! I've greatly enjoyed our time together and I am much richer for having "witnessed" your story.Thank you.Andy Dix,Author/Motivational Speaker"Life Matches: Fire Up Your Life!"[...]

Great Author great read great price but the set is perfect for summer in to autumn readingl
Haven't gotten around to my summer reading. Book sounds awesome, it's about my city where I grew up in & could have died in. I did not know, nor was I aware of how dangerous the scene I was in was so violent & quick to kill just to kill. I was mostly the only chic at shows & I don't like what a joke punk has turned in to. It is *officially* a subculture with its own language & punk *uniform* just walk in to hot topic & you too can be punk, goth, Lolita, cosplay or anything else you want to be, except for yourself. Nothing is new, original, or previously prepared: just line up by size, gender is whatever you feel like this day, but clothing sizes are honest, pure & true.

The Most Amazing Read I've EVER Had !!
I was a bit daunted by the size of each volume, but I went through them very quickly savoring every morsel. It was like Parts I & II were written for me. The love I have of Crete (and having been to Chania), the world traveling, the explanation of Monet's art, and the interesting names (they say so much about each character), all the twists and turns. The saying is 7 degrees of separation, but there are usually less in life (at least in mine) and this story just emphasizes that fact all the more. I just finished it last night and I admit the 1st book was my favorite part, but I love the ending as well. I was a little skeptical half way through but I kept going and I'm glad I did. WONDERFULL!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE !!!

Halfway through the first book... It's a slow read
Very slow read. I have to take it in as small bits, read a little at a time. Very philosophical and deep, but it's going over my head. It has a lot of enjoyable detail about Greece and Crete, places I will probably never see. There are also lots of small, nice illustrations. I'll keep going at it to see if I can't finish it. The characters are interesting, and I'd like to know more about them, so I won't give up yet!

Third Page
Third Wish was a surprise when it arrived. I ordered it and knew it was coming, I just didn't know it was almost 1000 pages. It didn't take long for me to see that Fulghum had proliferated another masterpiece in his line of writings. I encourage your journey to the Third Wish.

Literature at it's finest
I read about 15 books a month, you do the math; of various genres. But this was one of those books where I both wanted to keep reading and stop and the same time. I truly ingested and digested every chapter of this book. Incredible. I fell in love with the characters,,,,,,,,,in all their facets, the author and his uncanny ability to create such viable and exotic story lines and the art, history and poety of this book.A MUST read,,,,,,and read again, I found myself making notes on his prose and insight repeatedly. More so than any other book I've read.Perhaps a cult fashioned book, exploring the known and the unknown. The riddles of life and living and death and dying.I'm hooked. I'd recommend it to any and all,,,,,,,,Shelly Rollins

Love it! How many copies can I afford to gift?
I have loved everything Fulghum has written (books, that is... I haven't run down his sermons). Without my love for his work, I would never have ordered a 900+ page book, but I couldn't not order it. Then to decide to even start to read it... I just had to trust my previous experience with Fulghum's work. And boy, am I glad I did. This book is about love, and ways of seeing, and not forgetting what's really important, and remembering to play....I don't have time to read this. And I can't put it down. I've only a hundred pages to go...

Husband loves it!
Got this book for my husband since he likes this particular author so much. Husband says this book is very different from other books he's read by Robert Fulghum. He loves it! Keeps insisting I need to read it as well
