Great Sound - Not Omnidirectional
I purchased this mic for my church to up grade the music directors mic on the podium. It sounds great. The clarity is amazing. Especially with a touch of reverb. The only thing about these types of mics is that they are not omni-directional and only pick up what is directly in front of them. They are designed not to pick up background noise or feedback from other instruments. This mic does that very well. Because of this design, you must have the mic in your hand and pointed at your mouth when you sing. If you leave it on the podium it won't pick up your voice very well. I was replacing a NADY UHF mic. Those are not bad for the money, but this Shure is so much better. I wish we had made the investment earlier. You really can't go wrong if you are searching for a lead vocal mic.

Best system at this price
I just bought this as a knockaround mic for our auditorium. I also have some higher-end Sennheiser systems that offer better sound and reception, but for simplicity this microphone is where it's at: turn it on by holding the power button, mute it by tapping the power button, and turn it off by holding the power button. It's easy to leave set up for a meeting and be confident that the presenter will be able to figure it out on his/her own, and cheap enough that it won't be the end of the world if it gets damaged or broken. Of course, it's also perfectly acceptable for singing; the frequency response is of typical, good SM58 quality, and in spite of the antennae being moved inside the unit for this model the wireless reception is still very reliable. While I much prefer being able to select my own specific frequency like I can on higher-end units, the ten different presets that this one has should be plenty for most people. It should be noted that even though there are 10 channels available within each frequency range you can buy this unit in, you can really only operate five of them within the same range without worrying about them interfering with each other (there is documentation with the mic that tells you which channels to use). If you buy more than five, get them in a few different ranges.Overall, this is a great wireless package for the price--in fact, probably the best you can get for the price--both for its performance and ease-of-use. It's a fantastic upgrade over low-end systems that has all the features most people would want. If you are a band, mobile DJ, or other professional looking for quality that won't break the bank, this is the mic for you.

nice wireless shure mic, BUT ....
the product itself is very good, reception-wise, sound quality and clarity, ease of use, available options (signal switching) but why I only gave it 3 stars is because of the following: (1)Disconnecting the 9 volt battery from the terminal was quite a hassle, it was so tight I was afraid the mic's battery terminal would come off (2) for the price of $300, the SHURE company could have provided a small plastic portable case. without any extra cost. That way, the mic and receiver would be protected on transport."We need to protect what is precious", I hope the manufacturer would try to see beyond just that of a good quality product.

Sounds perfect, as always
We already own a shure pg58 system but we needed another one so we bought this one, best price overall.Build quality is really good cant complaint at all, shure has a very good reputation as far as build quality.SoundIt sounds pretty good for what it is, its mainly used for live performances and it does great at it.One thing i dont like about it is that, it doesnt come with a case or something to carry it around.

Great experience!!!
We currently just started using this mic in our church as apart of failing sound system. It delivers a very clear sound and we have not had any problems with it so far. For the price, it is definitely a bang for the buck. I wouldn't recommend it for those have rough uses with mice because it doesn't seem to be a very sturdy/long lasting body, but if it is well taken care of, it will stand the test of time.

pro dj
I took this mic on one job and promptly returned it the next day (not purchased on Amazon). Basically it did not sound good and had way too much feedback. It may be alright for some light use, but if you are a true professional this product is not for you. I could tell from the moment I opened the box, neither the mic nor the receiver had any weight to them. You can tell it is a cheapy. On the tough and lonely road, it will not be there for you, it will not be your friend. GO STEELERS!!

Wireless Mic
My wife, being the consumate singer that she is, took her latest Christmas present to our favorite bar. She easily plugged it in to their PA system and she was off and singing! The sound quality was great as she roamed around the bar singing everyone's favorite tunes. It definitely supports a pretty decent distance between the mic and the base station and like I said, the sound quality was great. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Good but not great
The sound quality and reliability of this mic is excellent. My only issue is that it is made out of plastic and not metal. It cheapens its quality. I may have chosen a different mic if I had known.
