Kenwood Kca-bt300 Bluetooth Hands Free Interface Adapter

I've had the Kenwood DNX-7100 for several years and had postponed this handsfree unit until I had an updated device that would allow me to stream music. And though Kenwood's website is hardly conclusive in determining device compatability I bit the bullet and bought it. Happy to report the Motorola X2 works flawlessly!Installation was a piece of cake for the DNX-7100. Plug and play. Routed the mic to the overhead compartment and vlice quality is wonderful I'm told.I had my laptop at the ready to update the device but ended up not needing it at all! The phone was recognized by the BT300 and paired up without needing a code which was helpful (I beleive this is is stereo model and hand held device dependant).I will say audio quality when streaming music or Pandora is not exactly top notch; maybe 8/10. I've played around with the EQ and it sounds very good for most music, but can get somewhat muddy depending on volume and what type of music you're listening to. Small gripe...I'm not intersted in using my kenwood stereo to dial numbers, nor am I using the voice dial operation. The direct dial shortcuts on my Droid are the most convenient way to dial I've found (shockingly terrible voice recognition ability on the Droid X2 btw!).If you have a new Droid or iPhone, you should have no problems with this prodcut.

I purchased a Kenwood KIV-701 through Crutchfield and bought the bt300 here because Crutchfield did offer it. Now I know why. After 90 days I had to reboot the head unt to get it to work for a few days and then every day and after 2 months, it died. Great, just send it back to the factory. Sure. If you aren't going to install it yourself, don't buy on the net. It will cost woo bucks to get it uninstall and reinstalled. Don't buy this thing...

The KCA-BT300 bluetooth unit does exactly what i wanted it to do. Install took about 45mins. Most of which was just me looking for the best place to mount the unit where is would not get damaged.Got it all done and turned on the radio. The first time my Iphone connected all the functions did not work, basically i had to do everything through my phone and could just talk and hear through the car. I was a bit worried. After a couple of mins of playing i realized i had not gone to the bluetooth setup screen on my headunit(which is a kenwood ddx-514). after doing this and restarting the head unit, it paired no problem and all the functions where working.anyone with basic car stereo knowledge can hook this up. I recommend it, it makes a world of difference using the phone in the car. Plus, my wife and i have 4 kids so its nice for them to be able to talk and listen. I think the price is pretty reasonable. Most good bluetooth units (car,headset, stereo headset,ect.) will run around $100 or more, so i think its a decent deal.thankspatrick

Easy to install and connect. The sound is good and the functions are good too. The phone connects automatically about 90% of the time to my iphone 5. The audio streaming connects automatically about 50% of the time. I have to go in and manually configure when I want to stream music.

Order this for my double din Kenwood. I had it professionally installed by a local stereo shop. The installing was a "breeze". Unfortunately, the unit or my double din isn't compatible with my current smart phone, samsung galaxy note 3. I do get connection with this unit, but it doesn't connect properly "sometimes". Either, this unit is too old, or it is not compatible with my phone. I used 2 phones with this unit (note 3 and s4) it seems like the unit itself is "out dated". when i said it doesn't connect properly, i mean when i first turn on the kenwood stereo system, it connects to my phone, and lets say i turn off the vehicle engine and turn it back on... it doesn't connect properly. I would have to reconfigure my phone and "unpair" the device and "re-pair" it.

I very much enjoy this product. It works very well with my Kenwood KVT-516 head unit. Couldn't be happier.The one slight knock would be that it requires a bluetooth enabled laptop to update its firmare. Otherwise, it's great!

I bought this product to use with my Kenwood KDC-348U head unit, and the installation was easy. I already had the XM radio upgrade, and I was able to run everything in series with no issues. I ran the microphone wire up the A-pillar and clipped the mic itself to the top of the window molding, so it is perhaps ~18" from my mouth. I get clear call quality on both ends with no drops. When I receive an incoming call, whatever I'm listening to will mute (or if it's the iPod, it'll pause), and the deck will display the incoming phone number (or contact info if I have that in my phone.) I can receive the call with a single push of a button on the deck. Too easy. A great and inexpensive way to bring new tech to an old ride. This product has really transformed my driving experience!

Price was great and shipping was super fast.On the device, It really is simple to install - just plug in the power and connect the modular wire harness plug to the back of the Kenwood unit (I'm using it with a Kenwood DNX-5140). Reset the receiver and the setup is a breeze. The unit works fantastically. I positioned the microphone in the recommended spot on top of the steering wheel column, and I choose the option to have both front speakers used for telephone sound when a call is in progress.
