Very handy in power outage and protection of your systems
This will help when power goes out. It is NOT like a backup generator however it will keep power for several minutes. I have used APC for over 20 years and don't have one complaint. I have our large TV and dish receiver on this and when power goes out (which in my area can last for days) it protects my equipment until my home generator kicks in. If you wonder if it is worth it... Read the guarantee on APC products. They protect your equipment more than any others I have researched. As example, we had a huge power spike in my house. It fried my security system, furnace and 2 others. Any equipment I had on the APC was fine. I would suggest this product.

Compact formfactor. spacious outlets. Reliable.
Great UPS devices. Would buy again. Currently own 3 of them. Make sure to open the panel on the bottom to connect the battery. I recommend keeping the test results receipt attached to the UPS, so that you know how old the device is, and can replace the battery when the time comes. estimate for most people is 5 years or so. from the moment I integrated the APC 850VA UPS into my setup, this uninterruptible power supply has proven to be a reliable safeguard against power fluctuations and unexpected outages, ensuring my operations run smoothly without interruption. I use this in a home office environment Pros: The efficiency of the APC 850VA UPS is unmatched. It provides ample backup power, allowing me to safely shut down my computer equipment or continue running essential devices when the unexpected occurs. The inclusion of two USB charger ports is a thoughtful addition, offering the convenience to charge my devices directly from the UPS. what sets the APC 850VA UPS apart is not just its performance but also its user-friendly design. The setup was straightforward, and the clear indicators keep me informed of the power status at a glance. It's evident that this UPS is built to cater to the needs of both home and office environments. Cons: packaging is mostly paper, but there's still some plastic involved. the spade plug for the battery is a little hard to plug in there's a small spark when you first plug in the battery, so be aware. In summary, the APC 850VA UPS is a top-tier choice for anyone seeking a dependable power backup solution. It's a product that delivers on its promises and one that I confidently rate 5 out of 5 stars.

In an era where digital work and entertainment are central to our lives, the Battery Backup and Surge Protector has emerged as a true lifesaver. This device isn't just another addition to your tech arsenal; it's a robust guardian that ensures your digital world remains uninterrupted and protected. From the get-go, the setup process was a breeze, allowing me to connect all my essential components simultaneously. Whether it's my computer, monitor, or modem, everything now runs through this single, efficient unit. The convenience of having everything tied into one reliable source cannot be overstated. The surge protection feature provides immense peace of mind. Living in an area prone to sudden electrical surges, I've always worried about the safety of my electronics. This device has put those fears to rest. The first time we experienced a power surge, the Battery Backup and Surge Protector lived up to its promise, safeguarding my equipment without a hitch. But the real game-changer has been the battery backup functionality. The ability to keep my computer running during a power outage is invaluable, especially when unsaved work is at stake. It gives me ample time to save my documents and shut down properly, preventing potential data loss and hardware damage. This level of protection and reliability is exactly what anyone working from home, gaming, or simply managing a digital household needs. Good, but ANNOYING (& expensive) when they fail
I hate the failure mode on this model. When the battery finally gives up, the unit will start emitting a constant uninterruptible tone that cannot be turned off without powering down the entire unit. So the entire assembly becomes effectively useless, even as a extension cord or surge protector, once it decides the battery is no good. Not to mention, if you buy the APC branded battery, expect a price roughly equal to or higher than the price of the original UPS unit. It's ridiculous. Fortunately, my battery is gave me a good 7+ years before they gave out, but it was very unpleasant to find out that they failed at 3:00 in the morning. Not being able to turn off the alarm tone or acknowledge the battery fault is the single biggest annoyance with this thing and is a deal breaker for me buying another one

Excellent UPs for most electronics and computers.
You can use the either the 6 UPS ports, recommended, or the 3 surge protector ports. It has 2 protected USB charge ports. Settings are automatic and it has an on-off lighted LED button. APC is a preemo name for UPS.

Nice for 800 VA types!
Love this product a have a few of those along my 1500 VAs and smaller ones are protecting my isolated workstations and to be honest with you they are great for this type of stuff if you have 800W+ power supplies in your systems then these are perfect for those but if you have 1200W+ then you should consider 1500 VA options. No issues with these supplies on my end and I love them! I also use these at work for workstation protection. Highly recommend for any stations that have power supplies lover than 1200 Watts.

APC, The Most Respected UPS Maker For Good Reason
I live in a remote, rural area right beside the Atlantic ocean. Needless to say, we have lots of electricity issues and outages in my region. It’s one thing to plan ahead for storms and make sure that things are unplugged or turned off when you have advanced notice, but unfortunately, it's the unexpected surges and brown outs that damage computers. Since getting this UPS, I never, ever worry about these issues because my APC UPS catches every single one of them with ease. With an average runtime of 20 to 30 minutes to save any open files and gracefully power the system off, I’ve no cause for undue concern anymore. Ya gotta luv the fact that you don’t need to junk the whole unit when the battery starts giving out - you just replace the battery. APC has been the go-to, most-relied-upon UPS manufacturer since many decades now; and for good reason! Housing a field replaceable battery and consistently delivering solid reliability makes this unit a very sensible choice. I highly recommend it!

Working very well!!
I bought this to keep our wifi router working when the power goes out. It has worked consistently with no issues. No complaints whatsoever. I will definitely buy again when needed but hopefully that is not for quite some time.

Lifesaver for working from home
The 850VA has been great for me when working from home. We are in a developing area and incur frequent short power outages. We also just had a windstorm that took out power for 12 hours. This has been great to keep me working through the smaller outages (approx. 1-1.5 hours to run an iMac and WiFi) and for the longer outages it allows me to notify clients, wrap up work and shut down the computer safely (runs WiFi only for about 3 hours). If this ever dies I might upgrade to the higher capacity ones, but so far it's been a great product.
