Okay I just received this two pack of stainless steel washing machine filler hoses in the extremely fast Amazon delivery fashion . I did not have time to read all the customer reviews but I did base my purchase on the high star rating as I did not want to spend hours or days researching and reading products reviews. When I opened the brown envelope package I was disappointed at first glance focusing my attention to the hose ends. Me, not being a physics major, I do understand the principles of water flow, albeit, gravity, pressurized, pumped or sucked mechanically, hydro or electric. Having said that let me point out that on standard rubber washing machine filler hoses the hose opening is anywhere from 3/8" to half inch generally which allows a speedy fill of the washer tub for washing and rinse cycles. This hose opening is 3/16" which is pretty small to say the least. So people on a municipality water system which pumps water to your house the water delivery pressure is somewhere in the area of 35 to 8o psi max or if pressure is higher than 80 PSI a regulator has to be installed to reduce it under 8o. These hoses most probably work and are okay for the new styles of washing machines that use way less water than the old style machines, using almost quarts of water compared to several gallons of water for the older machines. This small hose opening under pressure will deliver water similar to when your garden hose nozzle is set to the jet setting, a small fast stream of water under volume and pressure. If any of you have ever witnessed a small pin hole in a copper water pipe or PEX tubing it spits out a lot of water in a narrow stream. The bottom line is this. These hose will work, but it will just take longer to fill the washer tub. I suspect if I searched longer I would find hoses that are identical to these, being PVC wrapped in stainless steel that have larger openings in the ends. If you are looking to buy new hoses and have the older style and models of washers that use several gallons of water for wash and rinse cycles these are probably not for you, unless you have a lot of idol time or patience. But if you have the newest models such as the front load or agitator-less styles this hose will work. Good Luck

I have a 20-year old Maytag and never thought about the water lines breaking. Then I read on a DIY site that the original rubber hoses should be replaced every 5-7 years and advice to use these reinforced hoses.You may shut off the water at the wall connection after every use of the washer. But most folks just leave theirs on all the time, so if one of these hoses burst at night or while you're away..... wow. And if you're one of those people with an upstairs laundry a broken hose could be a major disaster. Really.When I thought about the mess that could result from a broken supply hose I was sold on the idea of replacing. Amazon is a good value.So less than $20 and a few minutes work = peace of mind.Even if you have to hire handyman to replace these hoses, I'd sure do it.

This unit is simiple. Was wondering if this could be incorporated in a coupling where the screen could be removed from the side without uncoupling the pipe to get to it. Should be easy to do since it is not a high pressure system.

When I looked at the small inside diameter of these hoses, I was concerned water flow would be restricted and washing my clothes would take longer. Well, apparently they flow just as much water as the old rubber hoses, because the washer seems to fill just as quickly. I know you're supposed to turn off the valves to your washer when you're not using it, but who really does that? Now I don't have to worry about it. These appear well-made and attractive and are easy to install. As a bonus, they appear to be about a foot longer than the original rubber hoses that came with my Whirlpool washer. I'm in my 60's and I figure washer hoses are something I'll never have to worry about again.

Item arrived on time and installed easily with no leaks. TIP: Do NOT throw away your old screens, these don't come with their own. Otherwise, fine product, the only reason I didn't score higher on durability is that I just installed them today so I don't know, but I have no reason to believe they won't hold up just fine. Would buy again.

I use these hoses outside to help extend my water availability in the garden. The key is the 2 male couplings. It makes it possible to disconnect everything in the winter, which protect my PVC pipes from freezing. Brfore I got these hoses, it seemed I was always buying new ones at Lowes. Last year, I got smart, and got these hefty stainless steel hoses. So far they look as good as new, and hooked up with no trouble this spring I liked them so much that I got another set. You a probably looking for new hoses for your washer. Believe me, these will set your mind at ease - they are truly industrial-strength.

Bought these stainless steel hoses to replace the existing rubber hoses on my washing machine. After someone in the neighborhood had a rubber hose fail, I thought it wise to convert to steel lines. As other reviewers have noted, the inside diameter of the hoses is smaller than the rubber hoses but I haven't noticed any length in time to fill the washing machine with water. They are also plenty lonbg enough if you ever have to move the washer away from the wall.
