My very first silicone basting brushes! I’ve been using these silicone brushes for quite some time when cooking, baking, grilling and for lite BBQ. They bristles are a good size width and height at 1.5” x 1.5” for hold and spread. The handles are sturdy which is what you want. The brushes have proven indispensable when it comes to basting roasts, poultry, seafood, and vegetables with sauces, glaze and even light oil-based marinades. You will still need a mop for your large or tougher cuts that require a slathering of sauce. I have also used the brushes for the occasional egg wash and melted butter on breads, crusts and pastries with acceptable results. They are also sturdy enough to work with to add texture to your cake icing!That said, I have used these brushes in and out of the oven as well as over the grill. So far, none of the 4 rows of silicone bristles have burned, melted or clumped making them definitely heat resistant and machine washable. Unlike my bristled brushes, the bright colors make them easy to spot in a utensil caddy or crowded drawer. You will also not have to deal with runaway strands. The heads are detachable making them easy to clean by hand or dishwasher. Overall, they’re great little brushes.

Previously I had wooden "paint brush style" basting brushes, but I never felt like they were getting cleaned thoroughly enough. So when the bristles started falling out not long after purchase I decided to look for silicone basting brushes instead. I ordered these based on the colorful image, and I wasn't disappointed. The colors are true to what is pictured, very bright and beautiful. I love the clear handles with the bright silicone brushes, it's a very cool, fun look. The clear handles are flat with holes for hanging, and feel nice to hold. I know some people don't like that the silicone brush part separates from the handle, but I consider it a plus because it enables me to be sure I'm getting them as clean as possible. They're easy to clean, and I haven't experienced any staining or scent absorption. I'm happy with my purchase and would repurchase or recommend these silicone basting brushes from x-chef.

I have always used a traditional brush but was tired of the cleaning and worrying it wasn't clean enough. Also needed something that wouldn't scratch my non stick pans. Imagine my utter happiness and surprise when I discovered these AND the fact that they hold up to the heat of grilling as well! And four for such a low price?? I am very happy to say I already used one on some rolls and am amazed at how well it works. It bends and curves gently like no stiff brush ever did!! Thank you, thank you for a great product!! Am giving one to my sister in-law as she is a super cook and will love it. One for my kitchen, one for the barby and one put away just in case!!

When I received them I ran them through the dishwasher. They survived and they appear to be dishwasher safe (which for me is an absolute must). As an avid outdoor cook (BBQ and Grilling) I like to baste. What I do not like is to have pig bristles in my food. My first use of these brushes was to apply BBQ sauce to some chicken that I was grilling. The brush worked as well as my old wooden pig bristle brush but no bristles were lost and they are much easier to clean. One thing to consider, these have a fairly short handle which is fine for me (I use insulated gloves) but there are some folks that may like longer handle on a brush used for BBQ.

I use the silicone pastry brush for bushing butter on pie crusts and for brushing seasoning onto our meat. I love that it is very easy to clean and very easy to use. Although to keep it clean you need to wrap it in plastic because being silicone it attracts crumbs and any little hairs. So definitely wash before and after use. Overall I still love the lil pastry brushes.

Affordable and cute. The brush part pops off very easily. Doesn’t affect the way it works. Perfect for households like mine where somehow these things go “missing” and you don’t want to spend a fortune.

These are easy to use and easy to clean in the dishwasher as well as being in cheery colors. Totally beat the old brush with metal band that can rust!
