Highly recommend. Soak in hot water for a few hours and cut stems where they meet the caps, and they will not be tough or rubbery for you.Good flavor and texture, exceeded expectations. Spent a long time researching on amazon which shiitakes to get--glad to have gotten these.Expensive, so it's a splurge if you are using in high volume, but if you are a home cook and using the sparingly as part of a dish (slice them), they do go far and are worth it as they will very much elevate a dish!

I have been eating shiitake for many years. You can't beat the price and quality. Very happy with flavor and the way it cooks up.

First off, I like shiitakes (why would you buy a whole pound of something you don’t know if you like it yet ~ try some somewhere else first before writing a bad review). And secondly, I’ve used fresh shiitakes a lot, but they often need a little frying or seasoning to bring out the flavor. Magically, the drying process also brings out the flavor, so these are chock full of it! I use these regularly in soup, and they are already on my “to buy again” list.

These were very good quality mushrooms, they were all about the same size and not overly thick, satisfied with my purchase

It’s very delicious mushroom. Ignore the mean comments. They must have had a horrible day. I mean this mushroom is the closest I could find from the ones my friend shipped to me from China , of course there are much more varieties of shiitake in China, but this is pretty close. Good

The mushrooms are in perfect condition, and very regular in size. Moreover, they were packed with very great care. The quality and quantity were very favorable considering the reasonable price.

Great for hot and sour soup. I live in a rural area and it's hard to find specialty products like this in our stores so online ordering was convenient.

Had it with my tomato soup from Panera. Added good flavor and a little crunch to the soup, and felt super healthy.
