Liked the look of the feeder and was very easy to assemble.

After an oiling with linseed, it's lasted over a year and a few rough seasons hanging from our apple tree. Simple and lightweight, but robust enough to handle the swarms of starlings we get in our garden, and the occasional fall from the tree.

It's not very sturdy, made of cheap materials and has just fallen apart while the squirrel was on it! But it does the job well enough while it does last - keeps the food dry in the rain and the birds (and squirrels) can access it fine. So I'll buy another one until I find something better that's not too expensive.

I have a lot of small birds visiting the garden and have placed this house under a shrub and it has proved popular, its a good size, easy to construct as it arrives flat packed, lightweight and of good quality material. I would well recommend this product as its good value for money and easy to clean and refill.

When the feeder arrived in kit form for construction (no problem with that) I was surprised by the fact that apart from the feeder roof and the underside, which by its description as sturdy and weather-proof was not much more than 3 layers of pressed wood with one side veneered. All the other woods used most certainly did not appear to weather-proofed in any way and would not likely withstand the coming winter months. As a result we bought some outdoor paint and applied about 3 coats all over to at least give the feeder a good chance of doing its job when the birds need it most! And no, the cost of the feeder was not worth the materials/treatment used in construction. Having now weather proofed it ourselves, we feel it is up to the job.

Absolute rubbish. It is made of cheap material so just warps after a couple of days rain. It does not last so don't waste your money.

As this was quite cheap, I wasn't expecting too much. It needed a quick sand on the edges and there were a couple of nails poking through. As far as I could see, it hadn't been treated with wood preservative of any kind. Other than that it was fine. Before I assembled it, I gave the outside a couple of coats of Cuprinol, which made all the difference. It looks just the job now and should last a while. I suppose you get what you pay for, but with a bit of effort it can be improved
