Slack Key & Steel Guitar - Volume I

This is a pleasant enough listening experience, but I gave it four stars instead of five because Volume 2 is so much better.

The Maile Serenaders was a pickup group of musicians for the Hula label in the 60s. This album, Vol 1, feature great slack key guitar by Atta Isaacs, and uke by Eddie Kamae. Sometimes I'd like to drive and listen to soothing sounds only. This CD delivers just that. The steel guitar is a great instrument; it gives the old songs of Hawaii that special touch of yesteryear. Great instrument, great combination with the slack key; very enjoyable. I purchased Vol II and this too is an excellent listening CD.
