A Kiss Before Dying

A Kiss Before Dying  is a movie that I enjoy watching when I'm bored. It isn't a great movie, but it's fun to watch Sean Young, as the twin of a murdered young woman (killed by Matt Dillon's character), as she attempts to prove that her sister did not commit suicide.In the beginning, I especially liked the somber child staring out at a train - incidentally one with the name of a powerful family on the side - and then follow his machinations as he grows up obsessed with this very family. The twins, of course, are members of the family and heirs to a gigantic fortune.I originally saw the movie at the theater, and then bought the VHS version. Only recently did I acquire the DVD.It is one film that I like having in my collection for those moments when I'm in the mood for a suspenseful thriller that doesn't ever fail to engage my attention.Laurel-Rain SnowAuthor of:  Web of Tyranny , etc.

This is one movie you don't want to miss. It is very spellbinding, and even has a couple scenes that will surprise.Matt Dillon is just superb in his role, and the chemistry between him, and Sean Young is unmatchable. I have seen both the original movie, with Robert Wagner, and this updated version.This movie far surpasses the original in that there are some very surprising scenes thtat will really catch you off guard. Great movie!!!!!

This movie was actually recommended in an old magazine I thumbed through. As I watched the first few scenes, i kept thinking it reminded me of Hitchcock's great ones from the 50's and early 60's, especially Vertigo. Lo and behold, a little further on, Sean young's character's actually watching Vertigo on TV. Hate to say it, but the original Hitchcock's were much better. The performances seemed half-hearted here, and although it's a stylish production, it was just an okay watch.

The movie was great. I was a little disappointed because the movie left out some things that were in the book. However, if I hadn't read the book, I wouldn't have known the difference. It was a good movie and in perfect condition.

Sean Young always gives a colorful performance .

This was a good movie and kept my interest. I enjoy any picture that Matt Dillon is in, however I think this was one of his best.

Tremendously enjoyed the movie. The acting is great and I really like both actors. Matt Dillon is one S.O.B in this movie and I wanted to kill him myself...lol! He was heartless, motivated by greed and money and did not let anything or anyone for that matter get in his way.

My mother, a fan of Robert Wagner version and my sister who cannot pay attention both loved loved loved this movie!

I love this movie. I first watched it 25 years ago, as a friend of a friend worked on a magazine and got free tickets to premiers. If you like Hitchcock and 1950's soap opera movies like Niagara, Paten Place and the Young and the Beautiful you will love this one. This is much better than the 50's version with Robert Wagna.

Matt Dillon seems to be an actor that guarantees a good film. I didn't realise this film was a remake but I watched it on a plane when I was younger and I loved it so much that I simply had to buy it. A wonderful storyline, very dramatic.
