RothcoMen's Lightweight Shemagh Tactical Desert Scarves

We have used this scarf at multiple rallies and my kids always like to wear them to show solidarity. It is easy to put on and the fabric is soft and the material is strong, it fits well overall.

Pretty simple and versatile piece of gear. Not much to say except that it functions as expected. I'll buy again after this one wears out. It seems good quality, but thin cotton fabric can only last so long.

Bought this for my park ranger job. Held up great in 30 degrees for keeping me warm and kept the wind off me too. Fabric is TOUGH but also soft. Design is well stitched. Would definitely recommend.

These are simply awesome, I use them almost everyday... in the winter! this only gets 4 stars because it is listed as *lightweight*. I have another shemagh that *is* what I would consider lightweight and I use it year-round. This one is strictly for winter for me. To be fair, there are even heavier shemaghs out there, so this could be considered lightweight in comparison. It also could be in the way I fold it to use it as a scarf. Anyway, for the price these rock. Pro-tip on *any* shemagh: DO NOT USE YOUR WASHING MACHINE OR DRYER! Hand wash and line dry or else you will probably not like the results, it will alter the structure completely. I did this and still use them, but I would have liked them better had I not. Oh well, could always use more. Another interesting fact: These are also known as Keffiyeh [...] and some associate the black and white pattern with Palestinian liberation. Others claim it is cultural appropriation [...]and you can also find opinions that say the item is so common that it's use does not represent cultural appropriation [...] As a cultural anthropology graduate, I'm sure I *should* know but I must say I do not, the answer is not clear to me, and since the article has reportedly been used for ~100 years maybe more, I'm not sure if it can solely be tied to any political movement or ethnic group. I wear it because I ride my bike 365 days a year and I need a good scarf that is thick and provides exceptional coverage and flexibility and stays put, and these fit the bill. Would love to hear opinions on its use.

This is my third Shemagh and now I can compare it with the regular Rothco and also one from Army Universe.This one is Foliage Green - which is more a gray with a tint of green, a very nice, camouflage color.It actually smelled nice but I washed it anyway, like all new clothes.I was surprised that the water stayed clean unlike the other two Shemaghs which I had to wash twice and rinse a few times.There were a few loose threats and minor mistakes in the pattern.It is supposed to be lightweight but I hardly noticed a difference.It is soft, like the other Shemagh from Rothco andit is the largest of the three with 43" x 43"So, I have learned that there is very little difference in the quality of the Shemaghs from India or Pakistan.In the future I will select a Shemagh by price and color.Added after purchasing two more and experience with washing.I liked the lightweight Shemagh better and purchased 2 more. If I need a scarf to keep me warm, there are wool or acrylic scarves. I used the Shemagh in warm weather where I can also dip it in water to keep me cool.After I washed the Shemaghs and put them in the dryer, they shrunk to 27" x 37"But that is no problem. They don't actually shrink, they just crinkle up.All you need to do is iron with a steam iron - or use a spray bottle to get them lightly wet and then iron. They will be back to full size in a minute.Also - I bought the black and white Shemaghs because I wanted to dye them in a color of my choice. I used Rit Dye which is always an experience for me because the end result will always surprise me. I used Denim Blue. The first scarf turned very dark, almost purple. I rinsed it and put the second scarf in rinse-water and it is now a denim blue color.

I'm bald. My wife is not. I bought these to have something to cover our heads and blend in with our other tactical gear. It's great. I love the weight of the fabric, which can be folded over if you want more warmth, or not if you want to keep it cooler. I've used it on hikes where there is a lot of wind and/or a lot of sun and I love the performance.There's a reason our boys and girls overseas in the armed forces have picked these up for hot climates - they work!Update 6/11/2011:HOT CLIMATES AND COLD CLIMATES BOTHI have used this to cover my head and neck in snow covered mountains in conjunction with a camo ball cap, and also a waterproof/breathable boonie hat. And I've used it in arid, hot climates as well.It works well in either.I have been amazed at how versatile and useful this one purchase has been. It's also great for your neck as well as your head. It works great as a wind-breaker, to keep warm, and to keep bugs off you.

Get what you pay for . This was not the cheapest or most affordable option in Shmagh's here on Amazon but it is most likely the best made best quality shmagh on Amazon ! This thing is larger than most and it will become abundandly clear once you sprawl it out , mine measured at 46.5 inches by 46.5 ! The packaging did leave a bit to be desired and it admittedly had an awkward smell once opened up and had to be washed which did take that smell away and soften it up some as it felt as though it may of been starched from the factory . In any case all if good now and the colors are steadfast , the knotting on the ends are very small and secure unlike some other's i've seen out there which is problematic actually . The larger size gives it more usability and versatility which is appreciated by guys like me . A great product for a fair price , that's a deal in my book any day !!!

普段使い用に購入。使用感が非常に良い。もっと早く購入すれば良かったです。綿なのでウールや化繊のように汗等でベチャベチャする事がありません。暖かさはウールのマフラーには及ばずです。サイズは『首に巻く』、『口を覆うように巻く』程度なら十分の大きさです。『ゲリラ巻き』も出来ました。肌ざわりは…綿のストールです。それ以上もそれ以下もありません。色は写真の印象通りです。色落ちは何度かすればおさまります。
