Good book which provides some good information on the units panther Abteilung. Only bad point is that a lot of the photos are of poor quality

This book was enjoyed but it felt a little on the short side for the price

At best dull.
I bought this book because I have an interest in 3rd SS Totenkopf. It is not so much to do with Totenkopf but the SS as a whole,as for the history of Totenkopf it is no more than a diary for the years 1943 and 1944. I thought it was as dull as dishwater.

its ok, just...
despite being 1 of the original SS units, and the first SS unit to use tanks (6 ~Pz.35T's in it A.Abt in 1940), theres not much written in english about Totenkopf.this book has a small ammount of background info on Totenkopf's tank rgt in 1943, very brief, then about 50 pages about the Panther Abt in 1944-5. The text is brief, mostly notes of where the unit was, with only a very few tantalising first-person accounts. It really is a brief overview, leaving us all wanting much more info. There are some pics, but only about 14 show the panthers (I01 and I02), and theyre from the Abt commanders radio operator, who was wounded (amazing survival) when Meierdress's tank had its turret ripped off, killing all the turret crew, on Jan 2nd at the start of the Konrad 1 attack. So the pics end at Jan 2nd...This book is just a basic taster; we're still waiting for a larger Totenkopf history in english; this book ain't that....
