Great value for parts if the right price. Don't expect this to work per instructions.
Great model set, however it will have some issues. The angle girders wont fit together as depicted in the instructions and there are a number of instructions that are just wrong, or I feel out of order. Unfortunately spin master doesn't make the angle brackets any more so you will have to improvise on your own to make this fit together. Others have stated that you could call and they would send replacement part, but that appears to be over. I picked this up for about $90 plus shipping and I feel it was a great value just for the parts.

Cool, and brutal to assemble.
Parts don't quite line up, a kid would not be able to assemble alone. Manufacturer support is non-existing. Still cool, but you will work for it and never take apart.

The product we received contains parts that do NOT fit together. We've contacted the manufactuer and they have acknowledged that this is a problem they are aware of. We have yet to receive replacement parts, or a refund as we have requested.

Cool to look at, but not functional.
My son received this crane as a gift. He loved it when he saw the box. It took me 4 ten hour days to assemble. It looks really cool, however the gears are made of plastic while the rest of the crane is made of metal. The crane is too heavy for the plastic gears to turn. Metal gears would be much better. It has sat for 3 years as a decoration, due to this problem. I have tried to rework it several times, but have now given up.

Good deal if under $200.00
The media could not be loaded. Parts do not fit for the tower. Meccano is aware of this and have kit they will send to fix this. Do not call but use their web site. Parts will arrive in about 3 weeks. One can work on the boom while waiting. This does take some time to assemble. Works well. There are as always tweeks one can do to make it better. Have fun. Update Meccano no longer has the repair kits but are included in newer sets.

Better have lots of free time to put all 4000 pieces together.
