I need thread for my SE-270D and It can't be but so tall for the cartridge. Can someone tell me what the height is?

Q: Can this poly thread be used on a regular sewing machine for regular use other than embroidery? (Quilts, apparel, etc)

I've used it on regular mending to match material. BUT if it is at a stress point I wouldn't use it or double sew because the thread it not as heavy as regular thread. Quilting might be OK, haven't used it for that.
