3M Speedglas SL Welding Helmet 05-0013-41, with ADF, 1 EA/Case

Works good with tig and mig. It has auto on/off; you cannot forget to turn it on because it senses movement. Just set to the recommended shade in the documentation. It's pretty much impossible to ruin your eyes with this because it has full time uv and infrared protection even if there is complete failure if the auto darkening circuit. Obviously, if it doesn't darken you should stop and figure out what's wrong because it's not the manufacturer's intention for it to be used incorrectly. The response time is really quick. By the time you realize you're welding it's already been darkened. The fit of the helmet is good. I was able to adjust it so once it is flipped down it goes to the same, perfect spot everytime. I did a bunch of research prior to purchasing this helmet. Speedglas is the original inventor of this technology. This helmet is Made in Sweden. I wasn't willing to risk my eyes on a cheap helmet with questionable quality. 3M is great company with an excellent reputation. You only have two eyes.

Very light ! Cover lens are a bit pricey

I love my 3m I went from a 100 dollar Lincoln eletric helmet to this and I can see and feel the difference in the build quality and lenses.

If you want a really light helmet and want to go blind ths helmet is perfect for you!When welding AC, the lens doesn't stay dark long enough, the bright light from the tungsten right after weld current is shut off will blind you...all of my Miller helmets will stay dark for a second or two. This helmet does not.The sensors are placed in a bad spot - when you are welding in tight spaces you will go blind from the sensor being blocked in the slightest.Sensitivity does not go high enough for low amperage TIG.It's a light helmet and the vision is clear, but you're gonna go blind eventually, and you can blame it on 3M

This is an excellent helmet, it is extreamly light, sometimes I forget I'm even wearing it. It has two different buttons on the inside to control the darkness and the sensitivitie unlike the other cheeper ones that have diles. I have been using this helmet for almost 2 years (edit: 4 years) now and I haven't replaced the batteries or any components on the helmet. It has been a great helmet so far, I have droped it a cupple times and nothing has broke. These helmets are built tough, I would recommend any of the 3m speedglass helmets to anyone."My teacher said nobody would pay me to stare out a window all day...they were wrong!"

Some time Auto on no work good,has 1/2 second delay (enough to burn my eyes very bad)Only good is light weight
