Cryptic operation...sounds no different...heavy as hell...
Unless you like operating complex menus on a little display that appears to have been lifted from a 1975 LED calculator, armed only with a cryptic manual, you will never use 99% of the features of this piano. Does it really cost that much to include a bigger LCD display? When it can be found on $ 20 toys? Would it have killed Yamaha to at least write a piano management app that could connect to a iphone/android/ipad?The sounds are really no different than a piano that costs one third the price. All the fancy words mean nothing. They are selling keyboards using language once reserved for overpriced wines. 99.99% of the people in this world, blindfolded will not be able to tell the difference between this expensive piano and a much cheaper one. If you are part of the 0.01%, shouldn't you be reporting to Carnegie Hall by now?It is heavy as hell. If people want to carry this thing around, good luck and I hope you have good health and disability insurance. The keys are the only good part about this piano, they are a little stiff like a real piano.Bottom line: Not worth the money. I wish the stupid store I bought this would accept a return.

There Are Other Cheaper Comparable Options
There Are Other Cheaper Comparable OptionsThe P-155 is supposed to have the same key action as found here, but for almost half the price. If you are concerned about learning how to play the piano correctly with a very accurate key feel, then perhaps the P-155 will be a better bet. I do find this piano to be comparable in most ways, however, it is up you you and your specific needs on what option you will want to take. I chose the P-155, and am very happy with the decision. If you chose this for the unique options provided, just be sure they are worth hundreds of dollars to you! Also, when your keys start sticking - as they definitely will with extended use - White Lithium Grease inside the hollow plastic keys between where they rub against the rubber in the front by where you would sit when playing - will solve the problem! Wish I knew this earlier, and I did TONS of research online to find nothing - so here is the information here for you, to maybe save you a headache![...]Thank you kindly,Jonathan Bobal - Piano Teacher

Great Realistic Piano Sound and Keyboard
The previous reviewer obviously is into instant gratification, and can't be bothered with RTFM or such other unpleasant things. My previous keyboard was a Yamaha DGX-620 and there is no comparison. The piano sound and the keyboard are simply worlds better. My non-technical wife immediately noticed the difference. I consider the money as very well spent. I did the firmware update from version 1.11 to 1.20 today and it was completely painless. Sounds even better now. The only thing I miss is a way to display the chords being played. As for the weight, many other stage pianos are much heavier. The weight is because this stage piano is not a toy and built to last.
