Duck is a type of canvas. They fit well I just don’t put them in the dryer as they will shrink

What is up with the sizing? I ordered 36x34 first which is what I normally wear and they were tight. then i ordered 38x34 and I had 3” extra

My husband wears 36x34 normally, ( a bit snug). I bought 38x34 and was blown away. The waist was a lil loose but the legs were like some serious parachute pants and the length was at least 3 inches below his ankle. Ordering different pants (elsewhere).

Are the knees reinforced? Double layer?

No these are typical Carhartt canvas pants. They do not have the reinforced knees.
