AMAZING Alternative to the more expensive ElGato
HDMI capture cards before were always super expensive and each had their own shortcomings. This QGeeM HDMI Capture Card was able to help me with more than just one of my needs when I need to capture my games. I primarily use this HDMI capture card to send my EOS R feed into OBS for streaming. Since Canon has recently released the EOS Webcam Utility, I can use that as a secondary video capture input to compliment the QGeeM. I can now use the QGeeM as my game capture and the EOS R directly as a webcam. minimizing the need for a secondary HDMI capture card, putting less stress on my PC. What I love about this is that it's cheaper than the ElGato HD60s and has HDMI passthrough, but in addition to that it also has 3x 3.5mm jacks. 1 for Headphones(audio receiving only), 1 for microphone(audio input only), and 1 combo jack(audio input/output). It was easy as just a plug and play and my Windows PC was able to recognize the capture card right away. The device was able to capture the audio playing through the HDMI as well(just need to adjust some settings to mimic the instructions that they provide). All in all, AMAZING alternative to the more expensive ElGato. Would DEF recommend to a friend.

Took the fuss out of streaming
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I didn’t want a hassle. I wanted a product that does what it says. I plugged this guy into my laptop and Windows installed the generic USB audio/video driver without a problem. No pain of power supply cables like other capture cards. My use case was to stream games using the Nintendo Switch, which requires a capture card since it only has one hdmi output. It does this flawlessly in 1080p 60fps, as advertised. The instructions were actually clear and very helpful for OBS, which I am newly exposed to. There was absolutely zero lag once I configured everything to best suit my laptop’s cpu/gpu, meaning I could technically ditch my TV and stream while looking at my laptop screen.I am using a separate (Bluetooth) headset, so the 3.5mm ports didn’t come in handy for me, but they are there in the instructions if you need to use them. I will once I have a guest join me in person. (Each host monitors stream output, both share a 3.5mm mic for input, podcast style) - pretty nice that all of that can be done through this without the need for a separate audio interface. No complaints. Wish capture cards were a little cheaper, but converting hdmi in and out of usb 3.0 with zero latency is still the equivalent of a magic trick to me. I can toss this in a backpack and play my consoles on any size laptop screen anywhere I go, using OBS. That’s wild.

Not a lot of press about this, but it's flawless.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This is a great capture card and I can't say enough about it. It was plug-and-play for me with no issues at all. The lag when looking through OBS is VERY minimal - some wouldn't even notice it - but that's not an issue because there is a pass-through port. It also has a headphone, microphone, and headphone/microphone port on the device itself if you want to save using additional inputs. I would buy this again ten times over. Spread the word. I'll be buying more QGeeM products in the future.

Wow, it just works. You need OBS Studio, which is awesome and free.
Wow. Plug this in, configure your sound in OBS and watch the crystal clear video come though,. Even from my PAL Atari STE (30 years old) using SCART to and HDMI converter that other boxes have had a problem with, this comes up right away and works perfectly. You will need to get acquainted with the various sound settings to make sure your source in coming through, but it works fine after just a short amount of configuration. You can also mix two people talking in separate mics with a video.Obviously my PSX Mini and C64 Mini and well as Retron 77 and Mega Retron all work great too! Awesome for retro game sources that can get to HDMI output - even my weird Atari STE connection above.I even `plugged my Atari 800XL into and RCA to HDMI converter then into this box and the picture looks better than on my TV with the same connection! Great for all system recording as long as it has been upgraded to at least RCA composite.

high quality product, sleek design, easy set up
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I purchased QGeeM products before, I like the quality and sleek design. I purchased this one for twitch video streaming, and CCTV cameras. Set up was easy, I don’t know why other reviewer complained it was complicated to set up, I downloaded their OBS app and plug in htmi input as capture and it works. I am going to use it on raspberry pi 4 project later. This card is one piece aluminum, feel very premium, and minimalist clean design. I like it.Cons: I find none so far, everything works as it supposes.

Review your privacy settings on Windows 10
Even though I followed the provided instructions, I could not see this device in OBS. I tried different USB ports, I could see the device connected as a "USB Composite Device" on Windows 10. I tried to connect to it using VLC only to get a cryptic error message about an incompatible stream.I finally found a solution to my problem which was related to my privacy settings on Windows 10. Basically I had my webcam blocked by default. If you are facing the same issue as I did follow these steps:- In Windows search, type "privacy" and hit enter.- On the left sidebar, under app permissions, click on camera- Find the toggle under "Allow apps to access your camera" and set it to on- Now your capture card will work again in your favorite recording or streaming app.Now the device works wonder. The image quality is fair. I'm not blown away per see but the image is arguably good. It does a very good job of producing a consistent 1080p signal @ 60 FPS. It even supports 480i resolution which is not always a given thing, I'm grateful for that. I can also easily set the RGB color range between "full" and "limited" which comes in handy as well. Now about the "zero lag" claim. There is something to know about this. Obviously when you talk about the HDMI out port, YES I confirm there is virtually no lag introduced. I'm using this device to record live gameplay of N64, PS2, etc. I use my TV input with the HDMI out port and it works perfect. But about the feed itself on your computer, depending on the used application, it does introduce some amount of lag. For example, the preview in OBS will give you something that feels like maybe a quarter or a third of a second. It is manageable but definitely not super great - i.e. I would not play a frantic FPS or a super speedy futuristic racing game with that kind of lag introduced. I tried with VLC and it was even worst than that. I'm a bit disapointed by this since I wished to play when streaming on my computer so I could easily switch to other apps instead of changing my TV input.About the mic, yes it will capture some background noise. I can see it in OBS. It is very low, something between -55 and -60 GB. It does NOT bother me but it is there nonetheless. My verdict is that for 80$ CAD I feel like this is a great device. Versatile and simple enough. I would recommend it. Now let's hope it will stand the test of time.FYI if you're curious to see some recorded footage, have a look on my Youtube channel.UPDATE 2021-01-20: This device is HDCP compliant. I just found out that I cannot record PS3 footage without having the audio being cut. I hate that stupidly flawed cartel of HDCP enforced by Intel...

Works as advertised
This works great we use it in our television studio to record interviews of people from around the world using restream. It works great and captures great quality videos. We don’t like using our webcams on our laptops so we use this to connect professional cameras and produce professional interviews. I encourage you to get it and you won’t be disappointed.KiTV team
