I have many Yeti coolers but this is my first soft sided one. Like all of my others it is the best. Some helpful hints-Take Yeti's suggestions seriously about pre chilling the cooler. Throw an ice pack in there overnight or a tray of ice cubes. Pre chilling really extends the life of your ice. Also critical is not leaving space in the cooler. If you are not packing it full then throw a towel in there. I use bubble wrap which works great. Do not waste ice trying to cool empty space!To the zipper critics - I hear you. But I believe that if you are having trouble zipping the zipper then you are not using it correctly. This is a Y shaped anchor zipper. It is meant to wrap two fingers around. If you just try to pinch and pull it like a regular zipper you will suffer. Also you need to make sure it zips ALL the way to the end. The last inch is a pain but critical to keep air out. Lastly, the cooler comes with zipper lube. There is no better time to lube the zipper then when you first receive it because the teeth are nice and clean.Destroying a Yeti cooler is almost impossible and it has the best insulation. You get what you pay for.

I got this for my father for fathers day. We use this acouple times a month when we go out on the boat. It keeps our beers and water cold all day. There is even ice still in the cooler by the end of the day! Best purchase so far for fathers day imo

I bought this for my husband . He was using a hard cover cooler and he thought this would be better.He really likes it. It is nice looking but I guess , forn$250 i expected more.We will see how it holds up

Heavy duty zipper and holds temp all day. Yes it’s expensive but you get what you pay for.

I use this cooler weekly to transport raw sushi. The cooler is loaded as follows. Yeti ice first then a towel then the fish wrapped in waterproof butchers paper, then top off bagged crushed ice. Leave very little dead space. The entire cooler can be refrigerated if needed after transporting and the meat kept at 32 degrees for several days if necessary.The method of packing raw fish in ice is common in the raw fish industry.Besides this use I have other Yeti hoppers for day use on the beach mid summer. Again bottom has yeti blue ice food in the middle and a small blue ice on top.I had a zipper fail on one of the earlier hopper models which was replaced with a newer model with the improved zipper. It works smoother and the common problem of the zipper teeth getting twisted at the corners has been addressed. I lube the zipper with the silicone lube and clean the zipper with ethanol if is becomes sticky and reapply the lube.
