Can the external mic connect to the camera inside the case?

The external mic cannot connect to the action camera inside the case, if that work, then water will enter into the waterproof case.

How can I use this as a webcam?

Connect it with the USB cable and it shows the webcam option.

Thinkng about this camera for a hockey goalie helmet, but i'll be 10 - 12 feet away. What is the range of the remote?

I'm not sure what the technical distance is but Ive used it form eight meters without any problem.
