Does the tank come decorated as the picture ? Does it have that coral deco inside or is it just the plain round tank?

No, it doesn't come with any decoration, other than the rocks. Biorb supplies are expensive. Plan on purchasing a new pump after several months. Read over the reviews. The low rated reviews turned out to be true. Mine is currently in storage. After numerous attempts, I couldn't keep any fish alive. I have had aquariums for almost 50 years, and couldn't get this one balanced.

Does this make a lot of noise?

There are two ways in which it makes noise. One is the bubbles in the tank. That's not too bad. The other is the air pump. It can be a bit loud depending on what surface you put it on. If it is on carpet, just a soft, constant buzz. If it is on a table top, a bit annoying.

Good for bettas? Have read both

Hi there, I hope some customers will respond. I sell A LOT of bi-orbs but of course we don't know what people are using them for. I had one client sharply complain that her betta would not eat when it was in this bowl. I surmised that maybe the air was too strong for it. But having said that, this was the only customer to complain and she did not come across as very knowledgeable in the fish hobby. I would love to hear from other customers on this. I would think the air could be slightly diminished by valving some off if it is too strong. But Betta's do like still calm water. Nate at Practical Garden Ponds 484-356-5351

Do you HAVE to use their gravel? Or will regular gravel do? Thanks for your reply!

I suspect you can use something like lava rock or pumice stones if you don't like the provided gravel. Both of those mediums are porous and would maintain a colony of beneficial bacteria.

Turned into a blackwater Betta tank...

With a couple of changes, pimped the filter etc.... Removed all carbon and used a different substrate.... Added a nice piece of driftwood and some Java Fern and a white halfmoon Betta I found at the pet store suffering from fin rot. He looks stunning in the tannin soaked water and has fully recovered from his issues and his fins are growing in beautifully. With a few changes this is an awesome tank!

I had to send the first one back because it was damaged in shipping. They sent me a new one in two days. I've enjoyed just watching the tank. It is so calming and my Bata will follow my finger. He just watches me as I watch him. His name is Berry. I'm having so much fun. If you need peace, I recommend getting this aquarium.
