Most comfortable Sandals I've ever owned, but don't last
I have now gone through two pairs of these sandals in two years. For years before finding these I wore Birkenstocks, but Birks don't do all that well at the beach or pool, so I sought out an alternative. Most flip-flop style sandals don't provide enough support and those that do, such as Teva's tend to have extra rear straps that make them difficult to kick off and on. I also find most of the toe straps to chafe too much. All of these issues are solved with these sandals. They look great, provide great support, are easy to get off and on, and have never chafed my feet. Unfortunately, the toe straps failed on both pairs I have had in about a year each. The sole and top of the sandals still looked practically new, as did the main straps, so this is clearly a weak point in their design. This is not only a terrible waste of money, but an environmental issue at a time when we really need to be decreasing our impact on the environment. Also, my last pair (purchased here on Amazon a year ago) cost $10 less than they do now! A $10 increase ($38 to $48) in a year is terrible. Birkenstocks may cost 3 times the price, but most of my Birks are 20+ years old and still going strong. As a result of the short life of these Reef sandals and the huge percentage increase in price, I am going to look for an alternative. I really wish more manufacturers would focus on quality and not just style.

Broke after two years, I might see Rainbows back in my life.
I switched to these from my leather Rainbows almost two years ago to the day! The Reefs were a bit more comfortable out of the gate as they didn't have to be broken in, but that is about the only thing that I liked about them. My feet make an obnoxious squeaky noise whenever the flip flops were worn with wet feet or if the flip flops had gotten wet themselves. The sole also makes a screechy noise if they are slid along or if rapid contact is made with some surfaces. The final issue that I have experienced is that the fabric holding the strap on my right flip flop broke. I never had any of these issues with my Rainbows and have had owned several pairs over decades of living near the beach. I am disappointed that these did not last longer and will likely not be purchasing another pair of these again. I think I see Rainbows in my future again....

Looking Fresh !! Are A Tad Small... Order Up.
Love these. They do fit a tad small so I would defiantly recommend to order up. For example I wear a size 11.5 in shoes but I got a size 12 in these sandals and it fits perfectly. I based that off the other reviews and size recommendations on here. The design is great, not too much but much more than just a regular all black sandal.Another reason I picked these out, were the arch support. I find that of all the sandal brands, Reef consistently comes through with good arch support. Thank you because I need it!!Overall I recommend, get a 1/2 size up & enjoy.

You Tried The Rest, Now Get The Best!
I've Worn Reef Sandals For Years. These Are Super Comfortable, Look Really Great With Anything You Wear Day Or Night AND Feel Great. I Like That They Feel Like I'm Walking On Sofr Clouds. I Have Been To California & Different States, The Caribbeans, And All Kinds Of Walking Terrains And I've Had Happy Feet With No Aches/Pains. I Highly Recommend These To Anyone. Now I Know Some People Complain About Them Being "Tight" Right Out The Box, But Honestly, Do You Want a Sandal That Is Premade For a "Standard" Size Foot Width Or Something That Conforms To YOUR Own Width After a Few Tries. I Enjoy These Sandals And Use Them Daily, Even In Winter, As They Become My "House Slippers". Reefs Are Made To Fit Properly, Unlike Other Sandals Where Your Toes Hang Over The Lip Or You're Dragging An Extra 2 Inches Past Your Heel. They Are True To Size, Will Stretch To Your Own Width And Feel Comfortable.

Best pair of reefs I have ever bought.
I love these sandals. I have been wearing reef flip flops for a very long time (mostly phantoms), and I like these more. The strap on the phantoms come a little tight, but loosens to a comfortable fit over time. These sandals come a bit looser so there was no painful break in period for me. They run true to size for me. I haven't had them long so I can't really speak about durability, but I think the hard layer on the very bottom will give you traction for quite a while. The overall look of the sandal is good, but there is a little bit of dried glue between the layers from the manufacturing process that is visible. You can't really see it unless your eyes are a few inches away from the sandals. I like the top surface way better than other reefs the ridges are just right. They cost more than other reefs, but I think they are worth it.

Fav Sandal
This is my fifth or sixth pair of Reef Brazil sandals. I intended to buy a pair of Slaps because I've had two others that I liked, but they were not available. So I opted for the Modern, which I think is an updated version of the Slaps. They have the same cushioned footbed while the outer sole is tough for longer wear. The strap is not so high over the footbed, so they fit better--they don't flop around so much when a foot is in the air. Caution: For me they took a break-in period. I wore them for an hour or so for about three days, and they were fine thereafter after the strap materials softened a bit. They look good, too.

Not my favorite, but nice, & would buy again
I normally get Teva's, but the price has climbed so high - especially on the black ones I wanted. People reviewing Teva's kept mentioning Reef sandals, so I thought I'd give them a try. They are comfortable, but a little odd in the foot bed - it's ribbed, and always feels a little odd when first put on. But once you wear for a minute or two, the weird feeling disappears. For the price, I think they are good sandals. I like them, I wear them, and they are comfortable. Maybe not as supportive as Teva's, and the jury is still out on how long they will last. But, I would buy again as the price is good. But, I still prefer Teva's though.

Reef Modern Black Flip-Flops. Not for hobbit feet!
Reef flip-flops have been purchased and worn for many years on holiday (and currently household slippers. ) Never had a problem before these. Very tight and uncomfortable. Not wearable. Returned for a uncomplicated refund from Amazon.

I bought an 8 and the fit is perfect so I'd guess the sizing could be described as ...
I'm generally a size 7 but occasionally an 8 depending on make. I bought an 8 and the fit is perfect so I'd guess the sizing could be described as slightly small. The flip flops are very comfortable and a far cry from the cheap plastic affairs that I had as a kid that gave you blisters between your toes. The inner sole feels very soft and may not be extremely durable although this is just speculation.
