Good variety of holds.
I bought a foundation pack a few months ago and I've been very satisfied with the holds. Took a chance on this big box.....glad I did! With all the hardware included this was a great purchase. I was a little worries about the random holds but the selection is awesome!

Great Metolius Quality as Usual
The selection of holds I received were well packaged and had a lot of variety. Some of the holds were much larger than I expected and were a great variety. The colors are solid colors, I'm not sure why Metolius doesn't use photos that depict what you actually get. This would save them a lot of heartache with upset customers. You do get a wide variety of holds from all of their styles. I would have given them 5 stars if they used pictures of items that actually shipped in true colors.

half screw on holds
this 40 pack came with enough bolts and T-nuts in order to hang all 20 bolt on holds. then there are 20 screw on holds. these are nice for variation, but i though there would be more bolt on. Good holds either way. large variation on type of holds. maybe good enough for 2 4x8 boards. i used all the bolt ons for my kids 4x8

Lots of screw ons.
Bought this set to fill use on a one panel climbing wall. 60% of the holds were screw ons rather than bolt ons.

Does not look like the pictures
This is a fine product, my complaint is only superficial. It does not look like the pictures. I was super excited to find colorful golds that didn’t look like playground pieces - solid, primary colors. In the pictures it shows earth tones, marbles holds, some muted colors, but the reality is that they are ALL exactly what I DIDNT want- playground pieces. there aren’t a few cool ones thrown in, they are all basic bold solid colors. It was a disappointment but not so big a deal that I would return them.

Buy more T-Nuts!!
Note - This 50 pack only comes with 32 T-Nuts. You will need to source your own additional T-Nuts if building a climbing or bouldering wall. Please keep in mind that a single plywood sheet (4x8) will require at least 100 T-Nuts...even up to 300 T-Nuts depending on layout. Even Metolius' own manual which comes with this 50 pack calls for 100-250 T-nuts per sheet of ply. And..a 1-sheet wall is pretty useless... more realistically you'd have at least 2-4 sheets. As you think about your investment...it is several more packs of T-Nuts, the ply, the framing materials, etc. It all adds up so make sure you do your research and budgeting ahead of time. And, have fun! :)
