Why does this unit say it needs to be installed by an hvac professional? isn’t the premise of the mr. cool unit to be installed by a diy?

I called customer service. This product is not their DIY unit. This unit requires you to have special equipment to pull a vacuum to install properly. You will need to buy the DIY version if you plan on installing it yourself.

Is this unit already charged with refrigerant?

Yes, this comes with enough refrigerant for the included 16 ft line set.

How many square feet can this unit heat and cool?

My 9k is in a 30x15 room with 8ft ceilings and it easily heats and cools from 10 degrees to 100+ without over working the unit. Hopefully that helps

How loud is it inside and out?

Outside it is no louder than a range vent. Inside it is very quiet, almost no sound. Less than a bathroom fan.
